Scooch: The new video...& that nun again

The new Scooch video is out and there are one or two special guests on the flight! The new video sees the band flying the Scooch Airline flight, and it appears that Sister Mary McArthur is not impressed by the duty free prices. You can see the new on the all new BBC Eurovision website (link below).

Sister Mary McArthur produced her own take on the Scooch song as promotion for her upcoming comedy show in London. Scooch were so impressed that they featured the video on their myspace page and invited the crazy nun along to take part in the official video. Scooch's record label, Warner Bros. have got together with dermalogica to produce some special in-flight skin care packs. The packs include a special multivitamin hand and nail treatment, bottle of skin hydrating booster and multi-active tonor, as well as a plastic toy aeroplane!

The video can be seen on the all new BBC Eurovision website here. The site features an all new quiz, news about Scooch and lots of facts and figures about the Eurovision Song Contest and Helsinki. The direct link for the video is here.

Exclusive esctoday.com Competition

To win your special Dermalogica pack along with a Scooch flight book and promo CD, simply answer the following questions and send your answers to win@esctoday.com with your postal address and esctoday.com membership number.

@Simon - I couln't agree more.

This is what makes the ESC so special. Where else are you going to see such a varied mixture of music and culture? Looks like UK culture hasn't changed since 'Are You Being Served?' though (not such a bad thing).

Anyway for the UK, it's just about the party now, so sit down, relax and enjoy the flight.

@ Zohar,

You're a pilot? Hmm...our last top 15 result (top 3 even) was written by a pilot! :D

I recognise your name from somewhere, but I can't think where...do you do karaoke?

As a former pilot, I wish to fly these "air stewards" on a terror journey they'll never forget. Make them think twice before they torture europe for three minutes on May 12 and send eurovision 10 years back.

@Melina*

get off your moral high horse - this year the UK is finally standing up to the "let's vote for our neighbour" countries and saying " we're gonna have some fun with this and stop taking ourselves so seriously" - it's not treating the concept of ESC with contempt, it's treating those who have turned it into a sham with contempt. . . .

Who wants a Scooch promo CD?

Brilliant, just brilliant.
The video encapsulates the whole ethic of the song, and it works wonderfully.
What a shame this wasn't ready to be part of the preview shows being aired at the moment, as it would have really raised the profile of the song, unlike the cheap MYMU video that has been sent.
BBC - watch and learn for future contests !!

Yes, it is really silly those indignant comments from these ESC fans who think they know what it best for the contest, especially when they comment on the national finals songs...

Love Scooch and 'Flying the flag (for you)'- nice and funny video! What´s the point on spending hundreds on a video for Eurovision- waste of money! ...Better spent elsewhere!...

@Biff Bear:
fun is a nice thing everywhere....even in the contest, but i prefer to see something less funny winning the contest than the funny ones....we are not in the theatre or in a comedy show....but then, who cares anyway? so just for talking...

and i really do like the UK entry too!! i think it has something from the Bucks Fizz entry but revisited, updated to the new standars of the contest....i think it is a good idea to present such an entry..GOOD LUCK to UK then :-)

LOl I love the indignant comments from these ESC fans who think they know what it best for the contest. The scooch song is fun and silly and does not pretend to be anything other than that.

Lighten up, have some fun and f you dont like it, then dont listen to it and dont vote for it.

BTW I think Ukrine song id pretty naff and the act pretty mad but it is still fun and there is always room for fun in this contest. If you want countries to take it seriously, then stop block voting and then we will see a difference.

@Michael UK:
well i am the ne who would love to slugg Verka and Ukraine(actually i would love to eliminate him from the contest if i had the power to do so :-)...and i find the scooh entry much more stylish funnier....and i hope it scores much better than Verka(but i am afraid it won't :-(

Alex Bradbrook [25377]

What can I say.

Naff beyond belief! This is too camp!
Plus they have an EU flag in the song which sends it to least favourite position automatically.
After watching the Utd v Milan match I have to say it's a bit of a come down...!! (come on you reds! lmao and I'm not even a big footie fan)

oh, I meant top of the right hand side for 13th,ha.

One May 12th the UK must finish within the left hand screen of the scoreboard in order to achieve a good result so watch on the night and see how Scooch fair.

13th wouldn't be at all bad considering recent years but if the Union Jack is any lower than the top of the left hand side then I'm afaraid an internal selection might be nescessary next year to stop the UK public consitently pciking the best out of the bad bunch.

Best of luck to Scooch! I think they'll need it to be honest though.

Oh my God, I have to admit GREAT job on the video. It enhances the absolute and utter campness of this song, I'm only a step away from liking it.
Can someone guide me to the airline where a hunky flight-attendant will ask me in a very dubious manner: "Some salted NUTS, sir?" Hilarious...

Well it looks like it cost about £5 to make but it's a nice video, nice and kitch and funny. I notice that they have relegated the Union flag to one of many, probably a shrewd move. I suspect that I'll be humming this on my flight to Helsinki. Best of luck Scooch!!

Its a fun pop song in a contest that has changed beyond belief, here we have a web site with FANS saying I will vote for Serbia or Malta etc months before Serbia or Malta had chosen their songs, or fans who say I love all Dutch entries regardless

perfect for children's TV or Butlins holiday camps. Meanwhile the nation will cringe with embarrassment for 3 long minutes on May 12th. Roll on 2008 so we can forget this trash ever existed.
