Milan had one of the BEST outfits of the night. He's just the coolest ever!. he deffo shouldn't have won the Barbara Dex award! There were many worst outfits that night like Ireland in that unflattering purple thing, Ukraine in that retarded Jedi outfit or Armenia in the most predictable outfit ever in the contest!.

I (L) Silvia Night!! :D She should have been in the final.

Haha! Nicole and Hugo!! Of course!! More unflattering purple outfits! ^^

Eurovision Lover

Sorry, dear friend, but beyond some stupidity and a rather stunning intolerance I cannot see your point. Did you intend to be funny? Ironic? I certainly hope that you don't try to make a living by being funny or ironic ;)

@marko
I think Portugal had as many exelent as bad outfits..you see their 1986 and 1981 or 1996, compaird with the bad taste of 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009...maybe they must change their outfit staf!

By the way I loved Silvia Night (Iceland 2006) :)

I think the 80's fashion was the worst (S)

Milan Stakovic deserves to be on this list as his hair-style was intriguing and Silvia Night looked no different to a Brazilian Dancer which one would see in Notting-Hill Carnival so I don't think she deserves to be on this list as her outfit was nothing to write home about. lol

Hahahaha ooops I meant Eurovision Expert, not lover! :D

Eurovision lover
Ha, Ha! Very "clever" and "funny" from you! :S
Why do you write those bullshits when you are Eurovision Expert!? :D It seems you are rather Lemon Expert than Eurovision Expert! :D :D What could I expect when you consider Silvia Night as the top of intelligence! :D :D From now on I will call it Lemon intelligence! :D :D
And those entries you ADORE (S.Night etc..) don't need playback, they sound the same, horrible live or playback, doesn't mater at all, no difference! ;) :D :D :D

Too many hilarious and joke outfits are on the list, I think it should be mixed with nice and beautiful ones more!
I hope Verka Serduchka's won't be on the list, but it will be we all know what is remarkable in ESC today *rolling eyes* it will be rather than AMAZING Youddiph's dress from "Vechny stranyk"! (L)

It's so pity Azerbaijan decided to send Azeri composer and singer next year, I hoped they will buy Nicki Minaj to take part in their entry next year! LOOL :D

Two of my favourites make an appearance on this list: Portugal 1981 and Iceland 2006. Two fantastic ironic acts that deserved much more!

Absolutely, my dear friend! Like two islands of sophisticated quality in a sea of never ending white trash. A beacon of intelligence in a void of wit. Oh how I and my refined taste adore these two clever entries and how we profoundly despise the others! I sincerely wish we would have more Playback in Eurovision. But alas, people don't want quality and discernment! They want circus and revue and bearded women. The intelligentsia has ever fewer options in terms of entertainment. God forbid we might one day have to entertain ourselves! I'd rather die! Lai-lai-lai-lai... I think you see my point.

Anyway they booed the lithuanian entry as well
Well tbh very well deserved booing! :D
It was HORROR, it was SHAME and it was even worse than Silvia Night!
WHY?
Because it got 5th position while it deserved 35th! :S
I will never forget a guy on the stage who is doing smth strange from that entry! Smth is definitely wrong with everybody who thinks it's funny! :S No comment! It was ridiculously sick!

Avat
Who told you that I didn't know about that tradition!? ;)
But certainly Armenian try of that in 2007 didn't work well and it really looked like toilet paper, whole performance and his outfit (and other ppl on the stage :S) were hilarious! Everything could be better! ;)

Well, oversized coats were quite fashionable 1985/1986. But the French coats were still better then the hideous scary coats worn by BobbySocks while presenting the award to Sandra Kim. That sure must be the most awful outfits ever on a eurovision stage.

Someone doesn't have a clue about 80s fashion...

Where is the first Russian entry "Vjecnij stranjik" from Youddiph.... Now that was a special outfit and oh so functional....It worked so well with the whole song...

@Oxi,

I agree totally with your last message..... And you know why the contest moved towards these "comedy acts", because of the televoting. Because a lot of countries know that that's the only way to attrack extra attention..... So for all the televoting lovers over here, who do mock acts like Sylvia Night.... I can only say...You get what you ask for.

I meant the night of the SEMI-final. Anyway they booed the lithuanian entry as well, if i remember well, during the final.

Aparently some people here dislike the so called "joke" entries. Basically because they think, if i am correct, that they are mocking and making a redicule out of their beloved ESC (take it easy folks, i'm an ESC fan too).
Personally I don't. Even more I think that ESC itself is merely to blame for what it has become all these years and no all those Silvias, Kreisiradios, Rodolfos e.t.c.

PS: I consider myself mature enough to be able to avoid any "bait".
PS2: I absolutely insist that the reaction of the audience the night of the final of 2006 was due to pure lack of sense of humour; not to say lack of manners.

Sylvia Night was so funny... I still love that performance. Says something about the Greeks not understanding humour.I bet if the audience would have booed "This is our night", "SAGAPO", "Mia krifi evesthisia" and some others... it would have been war. And in my view these were really bad and deserved to be boed and go home with zero points than a simple piece of well performed comedy like Sylivia Night. But he not everybody can have the same taste in humour or the lack of it.... For me Sakis, breathing (trying to sing), doing his idiotic dance moves, all over the top is the best joke of the century.

Marko

By the way, once we have been speaking about toilet papers on ESC stage /Hayko's tree/, and I explained it's meaning. Orthodoxes use to do it, strange that you didn't know about itI I have found something documental:

Thu 9 Sep 2010 04:18:29

And Nicole and Hugo are probably the most famous act from 1973 :D !
they really have remained in history...I dare say that this performance is more remembered nowadays that the one of the (thrilling of course..) Anne - Marie David or the (overrated..) spanish runner up...and their appearence on "congratulations" was even better..after all these years wearing the same costumes.. :D

Silvila night..there's no sense of humour in that thing..but again everyone here who desperately searches for non-mainstream things in esc got the bait, the same way they do with that hideous drag queen in 2007..people who MOCK and MAKE FUN OF the contest are to be treated as that thing silvia night was treated the night of the semifinal..!
all that about acts etc are naive excuses...a silly girl who wanted to make fun of esc came by in 2006 but fortunately she got the reaction she deserved from the audience who knows to apreciate artists who came to compete on a contest...and that thing from Iceland was not.."understood" as there was nothing to understand...pure trash that got what it deserved..
(it really takes some nerve to consider carola trashy or ovverated and praise such vulgar things as Iceland 2006...carola helps esc to move a bit forward while such things only take it many steps back..and I m glad that even televoters recognised that :D )

Silvia Nights act was totally funny! I loved it! Cheesy and cool! At least she did the overthetop performance in the coolest way :) She came to be remembered and she will be ;))
