Christer Björkman suggested for Stockselius' job

According to aftonbladet.se, Christer Björkman has been suggested to become the new executive superviser of the Eurovision Song Contest. He would be taking over the job from Svante Stockselius, who has announced that he will leave the position at the end of the year.

Remember that decisions are taken by the Reference Group or all the participating countries at the plenary meetings, not by the supervisor.

Calm down people, who cares where the man comes from? It's the ideas he has for the contest that count.

WHY SWEDISH AGAIN?

No offence to Swedes out there, but can the EBU pick somebody that's not Swedish? Maybe someone from Belgium, Ireland, the UK or maybe someone from an Eastern European country, just for once?

@** 12 points go to SWEDEN **
I comepletely agree with you about the recording backing vocals thing. The contest wouldn't be fair if there are recorded voices. It would be like a boy band concert.

NOT, NOT, DEFINITIVELY NOT! I am not OK with this decision. Why another Swede and why precisely this guy for this job? There are so much other Swiss, French or Belgians who could agree with this job...

I think that it's good design. And I've nothing against 8 people on the stage and I think that it's time to bring back live orchestra. But I'm CATEGORICALLY AGAINST RECORDED BACKING VOCALS!!! I still can't understand why they decided to use recorded backing vocals in Melodifestivalen then they have great Melodifestivalen chorus with great singers and great dancers - Martin, Lars, Jessica and Anna?

A triple-supervisor team will be something very refreshing.

1 - from Sweden
1 - from Turkey
1 - from Spain

for example of course ;) ;) ;) ;)

And every 2 years 1 of this triple-visor team will be replaced by another one from another country ..

Yess .. hehe ; (L) (L) (L)

Nono, it's time for another country. Ukraine, Russia or Azerbaijan should lead this show now.

What an intresting Idea!! :D :D :D Wonder to find out the reasons. May be someone wants to see hidden call numbers on the level of Europe lol))

Oh Brandon, how terrible to have been sickened b4 you are 17.My what a harsh life you must have. This has nothing to do with racism at all.Once you've finished your education ,get back to us,in the meantime tell your guidance teacher how we all upset you.No doubt you will run for prime minister before you are 17 so as to put the world to rights.

@ Brandon

There are many well-prepared people from other countries. SVT (through Svante) has had the privilege of heading the ESC Board during the last eight years.
I think it's a matter of FAIRNESS to give a chance to another broadcaster to take that responsibility.
Olympic Games were great in Sydney (it's only an example) but this is no reason for make them to stay in Australia forever.

I have different opinion, and i want him! :D ESC should be more like MF today!

Fri 3 Sep 2010 00:03:39

And we don't want him because we have seen what he has done to MF. Now if the Swedes think that is ok, that is their own business, but the contest isn't owned by the Swedish, so yes we do have every right to have an opinion about this.

Since the people or Sweden are no race, we are not being racist.

I don't care what country the guy/girl comes from... if he/she is the best person for the job then that's all that matters.

Why does it matter if it's another Swede? Doesn't mean anything... you can judge the person all you want but ultimately your opinion will mean nothing until you actually see what this person has actually done as Exective Supervisor...

You really are being racist... and that sickens me. I've never seen so many judgemental, self-opinionated people in my life ever!

If the next person is a Swede, SO WHAT! Never judge a book by it's cover... If you don't want the best person just because he/she is Swedish, then you're one of the millions of people that prove that the public alone can't be trusted with choosing the "right" winner.

I'm usually quite peaceful and I just let you moan to each other but... seriously, why?!
