Lenny Kuhr releases new CD and DVD

Lenny Kuhr, one of the four winners in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969, has released a new DVD and CD as a retrospctive on her more than fourty years in the music business. The compilation is called Mijn liedjes, mijn leven and it features rarities, live appearances and yet unreleased material.

The DVD opens with Lenny Kuhr's live performance in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 and closes with a 2005 performance of her winning song De troubadour. In between, interviews, a TV special and more live performances can be found. The CD contains the very rare French live version of her winning song as well as various demo versions and new recordings of other songs. You can preview the DVD here, listen to audio snippets of songs included on the CD here and order the compilation on the official website here

Lenny Kuhr narrowly won the Dutch national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 with the song De troubadour. In Madrid, she tied for victory with the represantatives of Spain, the United Kingdom and France making her the third Dutch winner in total. Furthermore, as she wrote the lyrics to her entry, she was the first female songwriter to win the contest.

Many thanks to Gerard Hesen for the contribution.

I've got "De Troubadour" in first place of my ESC-all-time-favourites...

Her entry is 72# in my renewed Top-150 list.

"De trobadour" is, imho, among the 20 best entries of all time in the ESC.

How sweet is that..... The best singer names her daughter after the second best singer of the contest.....

Why does that link not work? Try this one:

I am not too fond of "De troubedour", especially the lyrics don't make any sense at all. No Dutchman would ever talk like that.
I agree that France had the best song that year. But I also love Finland.

And another thing: Edsilia had her first born. And the girl is called Imaani. http://www.telegraaf(...)t_baby__ .html?p=2,2

I really don't like this entry and for me the only worthy winner in 1969 was France. Frida Boccara's "Un jour, un enfant" is in a totally different legue as the other 3 winners.
