Sweden sends Anna Bergendahl to the Eurovision Song Contest
Songwriter Bobby Ljunggren is a familiar face as he has already co-written four Swedish and one Lithuanian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest: Se på mig (1995, 3rd place), Kärleken är (1998, 10th place), Little by little (2005, 25th place in semi), Invincible (2006, 5th place) and Hero (2008, 18th place). Anna Bergendahl became famous when she finished fifth in the 2008 season of Swedish Idol. Her first album is to be released in April. Her song This is my life currently is on top of the Swedish single charts.

The esctoday.com poll voters did not agree with the choice. Anna Bergendahl had only finished fourth in the poll with 8.6% of the votes. Poll winner Timoteij (39.1%) finished only fifth among the ten contestants.

The 2010 esctoday.com National Final Awards will be held between April and May, which means between the national final season and the Eurovision Song Contest. We will repeat the same format with two rounds for nominations which was used this year - you can read how it works here. However, this time the individual polls for each country will always be held right after the national final, when the entries are still fresh. You can vote for your favourite performance not to qualify in the Swedish national final here and for your favourite song not to qualify here.
In 2009, Sweden was represented by Malena Ernman with the song La voix. She finished fourth in the first semi final but dropped to 21st place in the final getting 33 points. In 2010, the country will compete in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 27th May.

I mean why doesn´t I feel it sounds strange? To me it sounds really british, more british than the people from UK ;-)

Sweden has already made their choice and if you're not satisfied with that you should stop complaing, Besides, We voted for Anna, perhaps not you.
Personally, I feel that Anna can do really well in eurovision because she is an underdog. Later the song will grow on you guys! Sweden may not win but top 10 is very realistic.

This is so not true! If Anna got the highest mark from the people, then it is unlikely that "most" Swedes are angry upon her victory. And I know a few that don´t like the song but I also no many persons that love it! So that is not true! And Anna has been a poll winner in the biggest daily news in Sweden before the final. You are just jealous because your favourite did not win.
Very good!!! Good job Sweden...it's a perfect sequence for Iceland last year and Norway the year before!! I love this kond of songs, fresh, simple and melodic!

i had high hopes for sweden some great songs but then when the votes came in i was gutted, the best ballad was i did it for love jessica anderson which would of done much better for sweden, then there was kom and manboy and even unstoppable great upbeat songs but no, they send an ok song with a singer whos voice grates on me and sang out of tune on several occasions and will get lost, the only hope is that as this year most songs are ok or bad, it might do well ,if it was in previous years it wouldnt stand a hope in hell sorry sweden
She shouldn´t sound like crying - but it´s a good song and I like it very much! 10 Points!

Sweden had so many great songs this year and...they chose the worst one. the most boring one. NO they cant be in top 10 with this song. pitty cause i love sweden

She has almost everyting against her, I waited at least she was 2nd or 3rd, but always thinking she would deserve the victory, I thought the great place of Eric or Darin will give one of them the thriumph, but you can see, not everythig is written by advantage, so who knows, she could be the winer, top 10, top 20 or not make it to the Big Final, but who cares, Swedes decided, besides it's simple, nice and great combination. I don't think she is a taylor swift or whatever her name is written, don't you know country music is from Scandinavian land! Anyway, I love the song and I'm so happy Sweden made this desicion, their decision!!!!

OMG I'm watching this performance 100 times! I wish if all those backing vocalist can go to Oslo together with Anna coz they are so AMAZING 
, but that's impossible, too many vocalists!
And 02:15 - 02:25 is pure MAGIC, I ADORE that moment when she close eyes! It's soo charming, but that part was better in semifinal, I really hope she will do that in Oslo!! And yes use wind machine, they are good stuff for all Swedish entries, all genres look AMAZING with them!
