LIVE
The show has started.
Tonight's hosts welcome the audience and explain the procedure of tonight's show.
1. 3 Pead - Poolel teel
Current esctoday.com poll result: =8th (1.7%)
The show opens with a very unusual electronic song that also features some hip hop elements. Although it is original, it is rather monotonous. The stage performance suits the song but is kept very simple, which does not really help. Probably not a winner.
2. Marten Kuningas & Mahavok - Oota mind veel
Current esctoday.com poll result: =8th (1.7%)
The second song is a slightly chaotic electronic rock song, that might have been an experimental Eurythmics B-side 20 years ago. Nevertheless an interesting effort that is well received by the audience. The vocals are rather strong.
3. Mimicry - New
Current esctoday.com poll result: 7th (3.3%)
The first song performed in English and the first performance that features major gimmicks. The song is quite catchy and the overall performance created a nice picture on stage. The facial expressions of the lead singer seem overly tense throughout the whole song.
4. Tiiu Kiik - The one and only love
Current esctoday.com poll result: 5th (4.3%)
[broadcast problems]
5. Violina feat. Rolf Junior - Maagiline päev
Current esctoday.com poll result: 1st (32.4%)
One of the favourites to win the national final. The dance song, which features a string arrangement, is undeniably catchy but the melody might be a bit too 1990s and lacking some edges. The costumes are a matter of taste and it is hard to believe that many people would enjoy the picture on stage.
6. Disko 4000 - Ei usu
Current esctoday.com poll result: 4th (4.7%)
The name of the group is giving it away: They are presenting a dance song. It is a rather slow one and probably needs more than three minutes to stick in one's head. Nevertheless a strong entry.
7. Iiris Vesik - Astronaut
Current esctoday.com poll result: 2nd (29.1%)
Another favourite. The song is highly artistic and reminds of Icelandic singer Björk. This one would be something completely different for Estonia and the country experienced last year that trying something new can pay off.
8. Lenna Kuurmaa - Rapunzel
Current esctoday.com poll result: 3rd (17.7%)
Time for some pop music in Estonian. In fact, the song is so overly bubbly that it is obvious that there is some sort of irony in it (which goes with the fact that the songwriter announced a few years ago that he wold not make commercial music anymore. An interesting effort, that is somewhere between artistic and sweet.
9. Groundhog Day - Teiste seest kõigile
Current esctoday.com poll result: 10th (1.3%)
A classic rock song now. The vocals are flawless and the stage performance is simple but effective. This song profits from beng performed in Estonian. Not a favourite but by no means an entry of low quality.
10. Malcolm Lincoln - Siren
Current esctoday.com poll result: 6th (3.7%)
Another unusual and interersting song. The song and vocal style slightly reminds of Norwegian group a-ha. A strong entry, which probably needs some time to grow on you. Of course, that would not make it a perfect Eurovision Song Contest entry.
A recap is shown with all ten performances. Our poll will be closed in five minutes.
Our poll is closed now. You can find the updated results above.
The top two are Lenna and Malcolm Lincoln.
Estonia sends Malcolm Lincoln to Oslo.

Not sure what to say about Siren. He has a good voice. Sorry, it's the only good thing I can find about that song..I don't 'get' it at all.
Excellent choice Estonia
Good luck
I wanted Lenna to win. Actually, I was sure she would win. But Siren isn't bad either.
Metsatöll should go to Oslo!
They were the best there tonight, lol.
Lenna's song would fit perfect in the Soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland but in Eurovision?
Rolf Junior performance was a disaster : S
Gosh, her voice is so childish and awful.
I am now watching the Greek NF. Is there a way to keep watching the Estonian NF?
I want more diversity - period. But having TEN alternative songs in one national final is NOT diversity. It's just changing the genre and having ten alternative songs instead of ten schlager songs for instance. How is that diverse? Anyway, Estonia will be great this year to those who like this kind, but not for me. It makes ESC more interesting, but it doesn't mean I automatically love everything that's not pop. I'd personally like to see more metal, rock and country.

Hmm... I'm actually surprised you don't like Eesti Laul? I thought you wanted more alternative in ESC? Or am I wrong?
I think Eesti Laul is one of the, if not the, most interesting selections in Europe and i'm glad Estonia changed their whole selection since last year... Eurolaul was pretty crap but Eesti Laul is some interesting stuff
I'm watching it too
3 pead were the best so far
Tiiu was a bit shaky, but overall it was nice
Very good show, just as expected
The fake songs are funny... if the were 1 minute long! I don't know why they made them so long, it's like a full concert! Plus the post song 'interview'! Too much...
Tiiu was good, but not outstanding
The song is too boring.
Tiiu's song is just so ugly. The worst song of them all.
It sounds retarded.
This whole thing is so bizarre. You wouldn't ever guess this was a pre-selection for Eurovision. It is more like some alternative music festival... lol. Couldn't they at least have offered some variation???
nothing worth so far
I am watching too. Nice stage and good live performances until now. Go Tiiu.
atm, Mimicry would fit the overall contest, but thank god I know they wont send this crap
I've expected that the girl transforms into a zombie
Mimicry has a really interesting voice, I like it. Of course, it definitely is some kind of "weird" but... We have got worse songs this year, so... Why not...
3.Mimicry-1/10
Very very very bad!!!!!
OMG, Mimicry girl sound like some tortured little creature.
Is this a horror movie??? She is beyond awful.
this is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Martin Kuningas-2/10
Good voice, but the song was hopeless
Seriously, Marten acted like he's drunk
Marten Kuningas & Mahavok are very good live. I like the song much more now. Can't wait for Tiiu.
1. 3 Pead-4/10
Interesting song, but the execution is poor, or poor performance
From all esctoday members only Laila is watching this?
I've also turned the webcast on, but I'll switch to the greek final later. Shame both shows are run simultaneously.
Gosh, what a weird song, but pretty cool performance. Just... not my type of music, lol. Nice stage too.
