Israel: Anne-Marie David supports Harel Ska'at
Tomorrow, Anne Marie David will appear as a guest in the Eurofans' Eurovision Sundays party line in the Evita club in 31 Yavne Street, Tel Aviv, Israel. (More information can be found in the official event page in Facebook, here.)
Anne will also perform on the Miss Israel Ceremony on Monday, March 8th at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time), live on Channel 2. She will sing her winning song of 1973, Tu te reconnaîtras, in a duet with Harel. She commented and said: "Nice to do, beautiful voice and nice looking singer, don't miss it."
Tonight at 22:00 local time (21:00 CET), IBA will broadcast a special program about Harel with sneak peeks of the four songs he will sing in the national final, the Kdam, on March 15th. The full four songs will be revealed tomorrow at 09:00 local time (08:00 CET) in Reshet Gimmel Radio (Click for live broadcast), and one hour later they will be available to listen on IBA's Eurovision website here.
The songs that will fight for representing Israel in Oslo are (lyricist/composer in bracket):
- Le'an (Where to?)
(Sahar Hagay & Eyal Shahar/Eyal Shahar) - Milim (Words)
(Noam Horev/Tomer Hadadi) - Elayich (To you)
(Noam Horev/Ohad Hitman) - Le'hitkarev (To get closer)
(Sahar Hagay, Nitzan Keikov)
In 2009, Israel was represented by Noa & Mira Awad, who got 53 points and reached the 16th place in the final with their song There must be another way.
We would like to thank to Shai Barak for his contribution to the article.

Finally, you can find all 4 songs here in Harel Skaat's page in YouTube: http://www.youtube.c(...)el#p/u/7/BozOkVTKsFI
"Words" is a very strong song among the four. But it's gonna be a real battle among the audience between "Le'an" and "Words". my rank:
Le'an (Where to?) - 10/10
Milim (Words) - 11/10
Elayich (To you) - 8.5/10
Le'hitkarev (To get closer) - 8.5/10
The best choice for Israel since Shiri Maimon!
I agree Charlotte - Le'an or Millim are exceptional - and you bet that Harel will sing them even better live - and with his charisma he'll just blow everyone away!
Sooooo proud of you Harel (and yes, I've always been a BIG fan!)

I have class now but all songs will soon be here...
I beg to differ, despite my pic I'm not a fan and don't have any of his albums actually. But I do think Milim and Le'an will finish top 5 and have a good chance of winning. the others are very good too. top 10 atleast!!
to be honest?
typical Harel Skaat kind of songs, that you will find in his 2 albums.
but...."Le'an" and "Milim" are more impresing with the way they are produced. they are more fit to Eurovision then the rest of the songs.
this two songs have more violins inside and gives a real goose-bumps in thier growing parts.
im realy trying to be honest and i hope Harel fans here will not kill me for this. but Harel is not going to have easy life on the way to victory. becose the songs are good but not boombastics. lucky he have amazing great voice and good looks that will add to his charizma on stage. but realy its not going to be easy for him to win.
Here is the first song - Le'an!!!!!!!! omg it's amazing!!!!!!

good evening europee!!!
i hope he wont disappoint me!!
The show of the songs is now on, I am watching it through LiveStation
He is beautiful, and I hope the song will be too. Good luck to Israel!
anne marie david , such a class act
Good luck Israel & Harel Skaat!
I have high hopes for Israel this year because they have chosen a very strong versatile act who can sing well live.
I agree with others that a song similar to "Veat" would be fantastic or something uptempo would equally be great too as he is well equipped vocally for an uptempo song
Best of Luck Israel/Harel
@ true fantasy:
Well, firstly we do not ARGUE we only DISCUSS, which is a different thing all together.
Secondly, I did say there are many genres in Israeli music, but only 2 are the main ones: 'mizrahi' and Harel 'type' Israeli pop/folk songs. Thats 90% of what you hear on most radio stations.
None of these 2 styles can win Eurovision. none of these 2 styles can even secure a Top-10 position. and they have been tried in ESC: Lior Narkis (mizrahi-pastiche style), Noa & Mira, even Rita (the way it was done on stage) - none of these were great successes. And we are talking about great singers here (yes, even Lior Narkis is a good singer - although I don't like his style).
On the other hand: Ilanit (the 70's), Avi Toledano, Ofra Haza, Duo Datz - they had pop songs which suited Eurovision, although in the case of Duo Datz thank god for the live orchestra in 1991 because the recording of that wonderful song was a total sham and a disgrace.
Eurovision is Eurovision. not every good song can fit the module. There are songs for festivals and there are songs for radios and there lovely songs which will always be only an album track....and that's a common mistake with many artists that participate in ESC: what to send? Czech Republic never understood it, and send 3 songs which they liked, with no consideration to ESC style. Now they are out because they failed. Monaco also tried 3 times in their style from the 70's not understanding that ESC has moved on. They are out. Montenegro send 80's rock ballads because they also prefer the drums & guitars to the full orchestral/ethnic style which is so popular in ESC today. The result: they are out! Italy - the same. Luxembourg - the same. Austria - the same.
If you are not willing to accept change and only stick to what you know and what is popular only in the borders of your country - you are setting yourself up for a failure.
You will find it hard to believe but we are on the same side here: we both want Harel to do well. But can he? we'll hear tomorrow....
Anyone know where I can watch the presentation of the songs tonight?
I expect a lot from Israel this year, especially after so many bad entries chosen this year. Somehow, it's seems that TV channels are competing NOT to host the competition next year.
more news about the up-coming Kdam Eurovision (Israeli national final) of Harel Skaat
the presenter of the Kdam will be Ofer Shechter
http://www.moshow.co(...)offer%20shechter.jpg
the panel of the judges will be:
Mira Awad-(Israel 2009)
Moshe Datz (Israel 1991)
and
Tzvika Pick (winning song composer "Diva" Israel 1998)
Dana International also was offerd to sit in the judges panel but due to other obligations she turned the offer.
I do really think that Harel's songs will be very good.So among chosen songs till now the best are - Turkey,Armenia,Georgia,Latvia, Norway,Denmark,Slovakia,Irelan d.And i think that among those songs mentioned by me will be also Israel.
@ Adir
what do you mean i heard it from his vid?
unless you are one of his music production team.
becose only tonight at 22:00 all the common people that are not music industrial related to Harel will hear snipets of the songs for the first time.
@Marko
Yeah, ur right!
From Harel, I hope a song from him like:
Ma Avarech
Veat
or Afilu Shesrefot
But actually ALL of his songs r really great!
Kenan
I agree, that's also the only problem for me about Aisha!
Now enough about other songs coz Israeli fans are gonna kick our asses coz we are off topic!
