Harel Ska'at

Final on March 14th

Israel: Songs names and writers revealed

Israeli Channel 2 operator "Reshet" reveales today the names of the songs Har'el Ska'at will perform in the national final on March 14th. It has also been confirmed, that the songs will be aired, for the first time, on IBA on March 6th.

Here are the songs Har'el Ska'at will present for the public to chose from:

  • "Le'an?" (Where to?) - Text: Sahar Hagay & Eyal Shahar, Music: Eyal Shahar
  • "Millim" (Words) - Text: Noam Horev, Music: Tomer Hadadi
  • "Ela'yich" (To you) - Text: Noam Horev, Music: Ohad Chitman
  • "Le'hitkarev" (To get closer) - Text: Sahar Hagay, Text: Nitzan Keikov

Eyal Shahar wrote the lyrics of Shiri Maymon's "Ha'sheket Shenish'ar", which brought Israel the 4th place in the 2005 final in Kyiv.

The 4 songs were selected from dozens of entries, which were submitted to a panel of musicians and specialists, among them managers of IBA's radio stations, Musician Elly Abramov (Dana International's producer) and the 1979 Eurovision winner Gali Atari. "I am very excited, as the national final is getting nearer as well as the Eurovision Song Contest itself. I hope and believe it will be a wonderful performance and an unforgetable experience for me", says Har'el Ska'at.

The Israeli public will first be able to listen to the 4 songs on March 6th, when they will be played during a special programme on IBA Television. The national final itself will be broadcasted on Channel 2, on March 14th. Har'el Ska'at will perform with the chosen entry at the second semifinal of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, on May 27th.

i belive IBA Will be saved and if not.. then Channel 2 will take control over the eurovision... IBA is just the channel who broadcast the eurovision it doesnt mean israel will withdraw... cause channel 2 is broadcasting the national final already.

i have a feeling that bad news concerning Israel are about to come.
Isreli broadcaster IBA is in big financial problem.
they are threating to black the screen (no transmitions) from next week until any future annoncment.
the Israeli goverment is not willing to strim money to save the chael by saying its old fashioned tv chanel and they dont bring raiting any more. so Israel goverment will not spend money on something dont worst it.
so right now there is big argument around this subject and there is no light in the horizon.
if the goverment will close this chanel it is allmost sure that Israel will not participate this year.
unless the very rich chanel 2 will join EBU very quick.

" My big question is Armenia, I think they won't qualify this year and ppl will be :O " @Marko yes, Armenia, Greece and Cyprus will not qualify this year , are you happy now ?

Well he is definitively a great singer:
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=ZKsqzD7FfIQ

but I reserve my final judgement until I hear his
entry. I don't believe it will be a dead-turkey (like the rest of the entries so far, except Cyprus) but it could be just boring enough not to succeed as many here predict. One needs a great singer (which he is) and a great song to go with..

In any case good luck to him!

I watched some of his songs on the Tube and I'm still impressed by the song mix performed together with Maya Buskila in 2005.

He is a great singer and with a good song will do just excellent this year.

Good luck, Israel, from Armenia.

I defintely think that Israel are going to do well this year. The singer, IMO, is good, and it look like a good setup for the song selection. Good Luck!

thank you Lina for the warm word.
and Enea i am glad that i could change your way of thinking a bit.
Israel is a good place. and no matter what you see on the news. becose this is News. they need to pump up the stories that they will sound more high raiting.
news papers and news reporters are like a store workers. they need to sale the products. so they will make a simple ball for example to a crystal ball.
we live here normal and good life like every where in the world.
the only thing you can envy of us a bit is that we have great weather and more sunny days hehehehe....but the rest we are just like you in Europe. we love life and wish for true peace.

lol...I agree that is true. With close minded people that will be hard to achieve. Dont judgme me..I am not that close minded although I might seem. All of my friends are foreign I love learning about other cultures. That why I am a big fan of Eurovision.

Enea.
of corse we have conflicts with neighboors.
like Balkan contries had or have.
like uK and North Ireland had or have.
like in Spain Katalns and Basks had or have.
like Turkey have isues with cyprus and Armenia and oposite....
there is no end to conflicts and arguments.
if people will learn to love each other more and not to argue like litlle childrens, Eurovision can be staged every where with no fears.
but until then if we will let fear control our lifes so we will not step out from our litlle cube we live in.
risks are every where around the world. and you dont need wars for it.
try to walk the streets of Broklyn or Harlem alone at night.
i dont even want to imagine to pass at night alone the subway in Berlin or the metro in Paris.
i allmost was atacked by drunk people in Munich. while at morning its the most pastoralic city so i didnt imagine that something bad can happend to me at night.
so......if i will need to live my life in fear from this and that i will not die from wars. i will die from stress and heart atack.

@ Enea Shqiponja

Well, the USA has nothing to do with this since we won't go with ESC to the US anyhow so...

Some big cities in Europe are for sure more unsafe than for instance Tel Aviv. Crime rate is much higher in Paris, London and even small cities in Sweden like Malmö than Tel Aviv.

So if we are talking safety we should be objective about it.

I want the country with the best song this year to host it offcourse. I don't care if it's Israel or what country, I will have to wait when all songs are finished to say where I want to go...

but I would have no problem with going to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem :)

By the way the school that i graduated had a very high percentage of jews like more that 70% of the kids.

@ w s

Oh well... maybe you didn't, i'm just pointing out that if we should discuss things like that there are much better cases to discuss.

Big cities in Europe are not that bad tho compare to the one is USA. Personally I feel safer in big cities there in Europe than USA although they have police everywhere her in the USA.
PEACE .... I just really want Portugal or Slovakia to host it. I am sure they will put on a great show for us.

I didn't say "Kom" was plagiarism. I said the intro is the same as "Simarik'.

@ Enea Shqiponja

All Israelis i've talked to said it is safe and I trust their opinion more than yours on this one sorry.

I am sure I would feel safer in Israel than many European cities with high crimes etc. Tel Aviv is said to be one of the safest big cities in the world with very low crime rate and safe streets in general.

Walk in the dark in many European cities and tell me how safe you feel?

There's not war in Israel. Yes they are in conflict with neighbors, but it's not the same as to call it a war.
