As every 1st semi in MF, the level is quite low. But I'm pretty sure the rest will be better.

A bit off-topic: Have you heard Jenny Berggren's (from Ace Of Base) song that is rumoured to have been rejected by SVT?

http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=_FJkGJONpzs

It was not that bad!

I feel lucky i have the video lol !
But I dont believe that SVT has protected the videos to be spreaded at all... YouTube is not all what can spread songs ;)

My favourites were Salem al Fakir and Pain of Salvation. Third best were Ola. So I am pretty satisfied with the result :)

I loved Linda best - though she looked as though she got her hand caught in a giant tin of baked beans.

SVT are pretending that this year is fresh, but by mixing complete novices with experienced artists, they are securing better positions for the professionals.

SVT appear to be copyrighting all videos of the melodifestivalen performances

Can anyone find a video of Jessica or Salem?

Listened to Salem's song again. It's fantastic! Much better than the snippet. Well, if this will be the swedish entry it will probably be the first time after 2004 that Sweden is my favorite nordic country. Good luck to Salem!
Pain of Salvation are also fantastic and deserved the final more than Ola, but I think they'll make it through second chance. They'll also make Sweden my favorite nordic country if they represent the country.
Jessica is well, ok, nothing special. Not bad either.
Ola is also good, rare thing for me to say for a song of Stassos and he also has a strong entry that could do very well.

It's nice to see that for a change no schlager songs made it to the MF final!

On SVT Play you can watch the songs that didn't qualify, that's all.

LOL Sara
Skavlan is very popular over here :)

You can watch Jessica here lol

http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=KkGX_8y8h10

isent she amazing?

i wasn't able to watch all the performances on youtube, but I really think that Pain of Salvation had a magical song and they deserved to go till finalen! at first i was afraid that it was too underwhelming, but it worked so fantastically on stage, I am really surprised that it didn't actually win last night and Salem did! his song was very complicated. I also liked Linda a lot-lot-lot (hehehe) and Jenny Silver! I haven't watched Jessica, but I am sure she was great as well! Ola's song was bad in the snippet, but I didn't watch it live! i hope the next semi will be better :(

Lol why SVT doesent allow the videos to be uploaded on YouTube ?!
I found Jessica's performance right after the show on YouTube , then while trying to send the link to a friend , I realised it was deleted !! :| :S

Hopefully , now i have found it in another site and i can enjoy her :D

It's a very sad song , maybe some old-fashioned , something between old Anglo-irish and "Because Of You"-like songs.
I would be VERY happy if Jessica represented Sweden in Oslo :D

I honestly start to think that my country is extremely sexist conservative.

Everytime we have an entry like Linda (a girl that is not as boring and lame as the others) it fails, even if the songs are good... because people HATE sexy girls...

but it's all ok for men to do the same and then people think it's ok.

I think Sweden should relax a little and understand that this is just a show and don't read politics into everything...

LAME ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Btw. What is it about Sweden always needs to bring Norwegians and Norway into their shows (first Athlete Gala and now here)? I bet they are pretty pissed that Skavlan (a Norwegian talk show host) won the prize of best host/presenter in Sweden last year (since he was mentioned again last night) :P I wonder in what way they are going to make fun of us in the NF. I remember the russian parody with "Tingeling" last year (which was a great song btw.) hehe..

LOL! I meant : Is this HIS dreamwoman...

The two that I was most curious about before I had even heard any note went through. I like the piano part in Ola's song..and it isn't bad. But I excpected a bit more. He still sings about "Nathalie". Is this her dreamwoman or something? hehe (or maybe his girlfriend)?

I like Salem's song. It's different. I want to listen to it again, but I can't find any video of the song :S

Btw. Salem really looks like Michael Urie (Mark from Ugly Betty) :D

@ Iwona Wegrowska FTW

Oh i'm sorry Marko :( Will you have another chance to do it?

Well maybe you added but I can't see hmm

About Kristina it is still the best song in the Slovakian selection, I won't judge it just based on a Slovakian NF performance. Remember this country has not been in ESC for most of the 00's and I guess they have really studied alot of ESC performances for this one and it may not work, but alot of things can be changed until May.

Salem is Swedens Rybak. He'll probably win. Sorry for Jenny Silver though.

I have to admit none of the songs really grabbed me. I hope I like the songs more in the next semis anyway, so last night I wasn't overly bothered who qualified. Ola doesn't have a bad song but god, when he starts singing the chorus ... how he has a singing career I will never know :P Salem has an interesting song, I quite like it in a weird quirky way but I don't really want to listen to it again anyway.

Okay, maybe I was wrong for slatting MF so much on friday :D I liked 6/8 of the songs, and really liked 3 :D :D The stage is one of the best MF stages for a while, and I even like Mans as a presenter :S :S The results were also what I wanetd, except Pain of Salvation to the final instead of Ola.

My Ranking would have been:
1. Salem
2. Pain Of Salvation
3. Ola Svenssen
4. Jessica Andersson
5. Linda
6. Jenny Silver
7. The Rappy Thing
8. The Jesus Superstar In A Broffel thing :D ( just weird ! )

Imo Linda should at least have gone to 2nd chance. I wasn't very keen on Jessica's song. I'm satisfied with the rest :)

New in Town
Yes i did it!! :)
I didn't pass exams!! :(

And have you seen Kristina's performance of "Horehronie", I can't believe they ruined such a great ethno song about nature, river Hron and mountains with that kitsch!! :S :(

Jenny Silver has the best song in this heat of MF.fresh music and futuristig stage performance .

@ Iwona Wegrowska FTW

I guess Salem might grow on me though... but the rest were just meh... I take back my support for Jessica, it was nothing special.

All polls in Sweden shows that Salem is the major favorite after first semifinal. The Swedish people really think he was the best tonight. :)
