I just looked at that milk advert, A.R's rendition of Herman's Hermits classic is pretty awful! It sounds has if he doesn't have enough energy to sing the song.

On a slightly different note. It's been 4 weeks since ESC and I have only hear a 20 second snatch of this years winner (the morning after the final) on Irish radio. So much for the fact that it got more votes than any song in ESC history. So it's going to be a huge hit all over europe? I'm still waiting!

Dear ESCTODAY.COM

Why don't you make publication of the news about Turkey and Hadise in this web site? It s just not fair. Hadise has just released the "Fast life" music album but you didnt make the publication. And you are making the publications of the other countries albums. If here is a universal web site of the Eurovision, you should release the news from Turkey.
Don't be unfair and please release news from Hadise..

@Candyman 12 points
I'm surprised Israel got ANY televotes, or votes for that matter.

12 points to Ukraine, LOL! Juries are sure professional... much smarter than us common televoters - lol! Voting for trash that televoters barely even liked and ensuring Ukraine another undeserved high placing :P Yeah, real professional...

Alexander Rybak has made a cover of "No milk today" cause it will be played in a milk-commercial in Norway broadcasted on TV (and he is also pictured on every milk-cartoon in Norway these days).... LOL!

Here is his version of the song:

Here you can watch the commercial by clicking his picture (also versions by other norwegian artists and from common people):

No, candyman...

France gave 8 points to Norway certainly... cos if it didn't, the 10 points they gave Portugal would put Portugal with 8 points in the overall and not the 7 points. That's why Norway had the 8points in the overall and Portugal had the 7points...

Televoting:
12 points to Turkey (7 from the jury)
10 points to Portugal (- from the jury)
8 points to Norway (10 from the jury)
7 points to Israel (12 from the jury)

Overall:
12 points to Turkey
10 points to Israel
8 points to Norway
7 points to Portugal

No, i bet the French televoting didn't give many points to Norway like in the semifinal 2.

12 Turkey
10 Portugal
08 Armenia
07 Israel
03 Azerbaijan
02 United Kingdom

I'm surprised Israel didn't get more televotes.

Jared Silverstone [51448]

or maybe French televoting was

12 > Turkey
10 > Portugal
8 > Norway
7 > Israel

so that the French results were:

(Jury / Televoting / Result / Given)

Turkey: 7 / 12 / 19 / 12
Israel: 12 / 7 / 19 / 10
Norway: 10 / 8 / 18 / 8
Portugal: - / 10 / 10 / 7

France gave the list of their voting for the Final:

JURY

1 point to Armenia
2 points to Azerbaijan
3 points to Lithuania
4 points to United Kingdom
5 points to Estonia
6 points to Germany
7 points to Turkey
8 points to Denmark
10 points to Norway
12 points to Israel

OVERALL (Jury + televoting)

1 point to Azerbaijan

3 points to Germany
4 points to United Kingdom
5 points to Denmark
6 points to Armenia
7 points to Portugal
8 points to Norway

(to explain what i was saying earlier, my thought was more "who care that irish jury gave 12 to ukraine in the semi since they don't have any influence overall" (excepting the wild card))

However esctoday.com sources have said that the 12 points given by the Irish jury went to Iceland
The same goes for the Swedish jury :)
It's a shame Ireland didn't qualify :(

Brian Kennedy - Every song is a cry for love, 2006. Lovely song !
I liked also his preview video.
Ireland - You know how to make beautiful ballads, as past years have shown.

Tbh is the jury 12 going to Ukraine really that much of a big deal? We need to remember a few things ...
First of all the juries in the semi finals weren't obliged to be professionals, and were probably just members of the public, so the fact they gave 12 to Ukraine isn't that much of a big deal :)

Also the Ukrainian song wasn't THAT bad! OK the lyrics were shocking, but the song itself wasn't bad and the stage show was quite something, and made it very apparent Svetlana had put a hell of alot of effort into her routine. :)

Personally I wouldn't give the 12 to Ukraine, but I can see why they did :)

was is everyone's problem with ukraine? sure the performance was a bit softcore porn but tbh i think the SONG is good and the sort of song you could imagine getting radio time in many countrys, although it was no winning song, its still a very good and one of the best of 2009...
anyways i think ireland should realease jury and televoting results.... would be nice if the irish people gave us 12 instead of 8 points :P but im guessing it would have went to lithuania

Hello I am surprised too that our jury voted for the Ukranian song. It was a great performance by a very sincere performer of a mediocer song. I didn't vote for it at all. In the videos of backstage she did really seem to want to give it her all. I apreciate what people have said about the Irish song. For us it was a verry different type of song and I think we were proud of that. Perhaps if the semi-finals were 50:50 Jury:telle vote it would have been different What is good for the final is good for the semi-final.
The interview with Johnny Logan refferenced above indicates he might go again. I think this would make an excellent poll. Would Ireland really want him or would just want him because he has won so often.
AT LEAST DUSTIN IS IN THE DUSTBIN

Yours from Ireland

I have no problem with Ireland's jury having given 12 points to Ukraine!!! :D I liked the song and am glad it advanced to the Final with their help. At least, the Irish jury top vote was not given to Norway. :P By the way, I do NOT like the song that eventually won. And I was disappointed that both Cyprus (L) and Ireland :) did not make it to the Final.

I am astonished that the Irish Jury apparantly gave 12 points in the second semi final to the trash fest that was Ukraine!!

Last year Ukraine was my favourite song and is actually one of my all time favourite Eurovision entries.

This year....... Ukraine...... dreadful stuff. The Irish jury must have been on drugs or drink or both!!!

Ireland was super-unlucky this year. Bad draw in a tough semifinal full of eastern countries. Baltics and northern countries voted helped Ireland reach the 11th place which is amazing for Ireland as they never do so well., especially surpassing countries with huge diaspora like poland and latvia. so they should be satisfied with the results. a big shame to juries for not passing ireland. croatia was good but ireland should have qualified.

A big boooh to the irish jury for voting Ukraine. (if it's true). it's a shame. i remember the 1992 winner was the head of the jury..what the hell? she voted for Valentine and Svetlana's kitsch perfomance? It's so ridiculously funny as juries were supposed to vote for decent entries and not trash songs. i didn't expect that from the irish jury. now don't blame eastern countries for doing well.

I am so gutted Ireland didn't qualify :( The odds were stacked agianst with them with the bad draw, and not getting the lighting they wanted but I still think its a shame the song didn't qualify. But at least they were close! :)
