Bulgaria: 54 songs to take part in Be a star
Be a star, this year's Bulgarian preselection, will take place in two phases. Eighteen songs in total will compete in the semi final. Nine of them will be selected by the Bulgarian public via televote and nine more by a special jury. A jury, different to the original one, will then select nine songs to go to the final between October 1st and December 19th. Those will be joined by three more songs commissioned by the broadcaster. The final decision, on the night of the final, will be taken entirely through televote and sms voting.
The show will be aired every Thursday, kicking off on October 2nd, when the first quarterfinal is scheduled to be held.

Keep up the good work.......after Romania's 2005 "Let me try" and 2006 "Tornero" u had the most impressive dance songs in the contest....i still listening to Elytsa.....and last year u were actually robbed.......u so deserved the final!

Maybe the songs that BNT will recieve after Be a Star will be better than this(maybe here are some good songs but we will see)
I really hope the real winner will be one of the 3 wild cards!

I really don't understand this system... How will they choose song?? Semifinal, then final, jury, televoting, ...... I will wait for show to start, hope we will be able to hear all the songs soon.
I know many Bulgarians are ashamed and don't like Chalga... and really hate it... it is still is a popular genre. Send chalga... it doesn't have to be a good song, but you know the girl singers would be hot mamas (not that I'm into them one little bit!)

Ok people I will explain this selection more clearly!
First of all the names that you see are really unknown in Bulgaria
Only Svetozar is well-known and in some ways Big Mama Scandal(from the last EuroBGVision)
About the selection:
If you have watched EuroBGVision you will know what is it about 
We have 54 songs.They will be in 7 or 8 heats with 8 songs in it!
Than from this heats 9 songs will go to the semi final by televoting!
Next 9 songs froм the semi will be chosen by special commission!In this round of the selection can join the song which didn't make it to the semi final from Be a Star and other songs send after Be a Star(from 1st October till 19 December).Then the special commission will choose 9 which will go to the semi final!
In the semi final jury(different from the special commission) will choose 9 from the 18 songs which will go to final!
BNT will produce 3 songs by famous artists which will go direct to the final!The most successful entry from Bulgaria - Water was wild card too!
So in final we will have 9 songs from the semi and 3 wild cards!

Big Mama Scandal impressed me last year.
Let's hope they put all the shots this year and go on to win.
the big names will be only the 3 produced by BNT
I hope we are treated to something as truly magical as 'Ne Viarvai' by Begacha from this year's early rounds. What an plus he'd have made had he won the Bulgarian selection. If you haven't seen his wonderful performance, try to catch it on youtube. The audience's reaction is hysterical.

It's quite a simple national final, people! It's not some crazy 10-show long nf. It's just 2 shows, a semi final & a final! There will be 18 songs in the semi final (half chosen by jury, half chosen by public), and 9 songs in the final, chosen by jury. Then the winner will be chosen by televoting. It's simple!
It's a shame that we never see any big names in the Bulgarian NFs. 
Hopefully there is the winning song in there!
Hmm....many unknow names, guess they are concentrating on the 3 wildcards again, which are usually stronger than the 50 plus x entries all together.
One of the wildcards should be Nikolai Manolov IMO, he could sing a ESC winning song like " Believe " anytime....

Will there be a webcast?
It's a matter of fact that the good songs get wasted in these long selection processes. In Bulgaria, the selection that chose "DJ Take Me Away" had many songs that were so much better than the chosen one.
I believe that Svetozar Hristov will bring us a very good song. His songs in 2008 NF were among the best.

Me too Zohar basically, apart from MF i'm not a fan of long selection processes, and especially not a fan of complicated ones like the Spanish ones this year and last year It'll be interesting to see if I will like our UK selection this year though, cos it will probably be at least 6 weeks + long . . . . 
I hope for something like Elitsa & Stoyan again.
Long long long processes, and what's it all worth in the end. dont always pick the best song. People develop pros % antis towards singers and songs. Why bother when you end up coming last places ?
