Meeting in Barcelona

OGAE Andorra choose new management

Last Saturday, OGAE Andorra held a meeting in Barcelona (Spain) to elect a new management that will run the fan club for the next two years.

Former president and vice president, Rafael Fernández and Daniel Aragay, left their posts after being thanked by fellow Eurovision fans and then OGAE Andorra members elected the new board to run the club for the new two-year term 2008-2010. The names that form the new management are: Esteban Espinosa Soto (President and Department of Ticket Management), Antonio Lorente Ortega (Vice president and Department of Contests), Jordi Riembau Ballesta (Secretary) and Daniel Aragay Esteban (Treasurer).

Andorran Eurovision fans also had the chance to discuss the new Andorran selection method for 2009 that is likely to be held in the Principality.

to pilot and-spotter:

I see you are an angry person and, you don't favor talk and dialogue between people and are also ready to crush the opinions you don't agree with, and you don't care about offending people. I'm sorry for you.

Yes, I'm a dreamer, but sometimes dreamers have made history. People like Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Chiune Sugihara, Irene Sendler, or Betty Corrigan and Mairead Williams. They were called dreamers... and they were, but they also went on making history. Read their biographies, maybe you can learn something about respect and dialogue.

i thought andorra had at least hotels or somewhere for to do a meeting.

if you are a member of ogae andorra why dont you want to go to andorra for a meeting ????

ahhh and that flag is not legal in spain , is not a constitutional one , so,,,, you're such a dreamer . open your eyes and read your id or passport , you will see where do you come form and where do you live

I SAY THAT BECAUSE SOME OF THOOSE DREAMERS HAS DESTROYED SOME BARS AND SHOPS DURING THE INDEPENDENCE MANIFESTATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 11 ( at that day where everybody remembers what happened in new york , CATALAN INDEPENDIST PEOPLE CELEBRATES A LOST FIGHT , ) does anybody celebrates to lose ?? catalan dreamers does

It proves the strong ties between Andorra and Catalonia. I don't understand why some people are surprised.

And to some people: just remember how many new states we have in Europe that did not exist before 1989. Did they appear by chance? Were the borders draw randomly? Would somebody dare to say nowadays that they don't have the right to exist anymore? Then... is it so weird to think that maybe some new states can appear in Europe?

i'm not surprised it's in Barcelona. More, I'm sure if Andorra would win Eurovision in some Century, it would be Barcelona the city to host it. By the way, I don't see the problem with talking about Catalonia and not about Spain; in the end, the realitonships of Andorra are closest to Catalonia and the other Catalan-speaker regions than to Castille, Andalusia or Galicia.

To "pilot and-spotter", I cannot see anywhere here that someone has treated Catalonia as an independent country. Just talking about feelings and culture, as far as I see... On the other hand, I cannot understand your sentence "just to mention that is not catalonia , is spain." ... sorry, but the name Catalonia exists... and we can use it if we want. A different thing is to say that Catalonia is not Spain, but as this is not a political website it does not make sense to discusss about that here.

Catalonia is a SPANISH REGION. i say that in case u dont find what some dreamers names catalonia as an independent land :)

i dont want problems , just to mention that is not catalonia , is spain.

does anybody knows that Dornei is a region of Moldova ??? so is the same :)

welcome everybody to Spain or to Andorra

The reason why the meetings sometimes take place in Barcelona is to make it easier for fans from Catalonia to attend.
A lot of Catalan people see Andorra as their true representative rather than Spain.
The Andorran national football team sometimes play their matches in Barcelona as well.
Yes, Andorra is an independent country but obviously closely linked by language and culture with Catalonia.

Derek is right! Why didn't they hold the meeting in Andorra, its awesome! :) They have a KFC they could hold a meeting in (lol), or theres this car park with really low ceilings that I banged my head on a sign in, (I sitll have a tiny mark on my forehead from it and it was 2 years ago lol). Andorra is full of great places for an OGAE meeting!! :D

Derek taylor, you are right !

Why does did the OGAE Andorra hold their meeting outside their country ? Really ! By land size, Andorra is bigger than Malta you know. Couldn't they find a bankrupt Cafe-House for a friendly meeting ? Are they even aware that they ARE infact an independent country ?

Why did they have the meeting in Barcelona? Andorra La Vella has plenty of places to hold a meeting.
