EDC 2008 new website online

The new website for the 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest has been launched today. Its design quite reminds of the Eurovision Song Contest website. Actually, EBU has integrated its three Eurovision-related sites creating the Eurovision Family.

The contents of the new eurovisiondance.com will be completed as the event comes closer. New graphics are featured in the revamped site, displaying a layout similar to the Eurovision Song Contest website in order to integrate the three Eurovision websites into the so-called Eurovision Family.

Interactivity with users is guaranteed through 2.0 tools such as My Eurovision blog, Digg or Facebook.

The 2008 running of the Eurovision Dance Contest will take place on September 6th in Glasgow, Scotland (United Kingdom).

Visit the revamped Eurovision Dance Contest website here.

UPDATE

Tickets for the forthcoming Eurovision Dance Contest can be booked online here (£ 10.00 or £ 15.00, depending on the seat area).

Yes Jonny, that would be appropriate as last year one of the world's best female figure skaters participated in EDC.

I really look forward to the EDC this year. I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic event :)
(The only problem is that I ought to be somewhere else that evening but I will do my best to get out of it.)

Yeah that would be cool! :) It would be quite appropriate to have Dima there because ofcourse he won standing next to the best figure skater in the world!! ;)

Awfull website. I don't know why the sites made by volunteers (like esctoday or oikotime) are much much interesting and updated than the official websites, made by people PAYED!! Someone can explain me that?

It says on eurovisiondance.tv -

"The 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest will take place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC). Halls 3 and 4 will accommodate Europe's largest televised dance spectacle in early September.
The SECC, located on the north bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, is Scotland's national venue for public events. It has five main exhibition halls of area up to 10,000 square meters. It is probably best known for hosting concerts taking place every other night in the 12,500 seater hall 4, and often in hall 3, which has a capacity of 3,000. The construction of the SECC was completed in 1985.
"

So two halls will be used for EDC 2008??? Very confusing, if one of those halls holds 12,500 people and the other holds 3,000 there will be 15,500 spectators for EDC . . . . . somehow I think theres a mistake!! lol :P

I like the logo this year, its basically the same as last year but it has a nicer purple theme than the garish red last year! :) Oooh I can't wait for EDC 2008!!! :) :D :L
