« Ella, elle l’a » all over Europe
Kate Ryan covers France Gall
Ella, elle l’a, a song written and composed by Gall’s husband – Michel Berger, is a tribute to jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald. Taken from the album Babacar, published in 1987, it was not only a smash hit in France but also in Germany. So, strangely, 22 years after her performance in Naples, France Gall suddenly enjoyed a second lapse of international fame (in the meantimes, she recorded quite a lot of songs in German).
At the same moment, a few other French songs placed high in the European charts : “Voyage, Voyage” (by Desireless), “Joe le taxi” (by Vanessa Paradis), “C’est la ouate” (by Caroline Loeb), “A la vie, à l’amour” (by Jackie Quartz), to name a few. Regarding Kate Ryan, the lady seems to be fond of French-speaking songs as she already recorded two hits by Mylène Farmer (“Désenchantée” and “Libertine”), “Voyage, voyage” and “Ella elle l’a”, all being her best selling records til now, together with the Eurovision entry “Je t’adore”, which failed to qualify but managed to top the Belgian charts and to enter other countries’.

This is crap! And it isn't the first time she f***s up a good song. If she can't come up with something of her own, she'd better quit the profession. Oh right! She did have something of her own on ESC 2006... CRAP!

i have heard for the first time the french version of je t'adore and i must say ,me as a flemmish belgian i like more thze frenche one ,she had better bring the french versieon on the esf ,nice

It's full of great dance anthems and I've had so muc pleasure to hear it.
Swedish team 2N who worked on this album also produced ESC song of Euroband.

She even managed to spoil that hit song back at ESC 2006 by her poor live vocals and dismal performance!

I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing but the first thing I thought of when I saw this video was "SCOOCH"!!! 
Anyway I though her performance at esc was very good. It wasn't her singing that let her down, it was a tacky dance routing that made the stage way too busy, bad camera angles and a pretty anonymous running order position

She's a good singer and I love all her french language songs, but she's bad performer, she lacks charisma like Charlotte Perelli and relies on her bimbo plastic look, when all she needs to do is let loose a little.

Kate already has 4 albums, I have them all!! The biggest part is own work though. Scream for more, Only if I, Alive and UR my love were big hits as well and are NO covers.
Her live concerts in Poland are FABULOUS!!!

I like both versions of the song. But I don´t get the videos... Kate´s is made purely to show off some kind of sex appeal (nothing new in the world of pop! lol) and France´s is one of many examples of bad music videos made in the 80´s. And no, it was not good even back then!
Yes Vincent, Kate Ryan is popular in Sweden. "Ella, elle l'a" is in 4th place in the Swedish charts this week. I prefer France Gall's version though.
"Je t'adore" was one of my favourite entries in the semi in Athens until I watched her performance.
To be honest, from Kate's song I only know 3..je t'adore (naturally), Voyage voyage and Ella elle l’a...I do like them all, especially voyage voyage.
