Don’t take it too seriously !
France : Annual Eurovision parody on Monday, July 7
This parody of the Eurovision Song Contest was created by showman Vartoche, hence the name of it. All participants, people working in the show business but amateurs too, choose a Eurovision song - in its original language - and perform it in a funny way. All in all, around 60 persons come on stage to make 20 parodies, with a 10-members real orchestra (no PBO’s !).
The show is presented by Olga and Gertrüd every year and juries consist of artists invited by Vartoche. We usually see about 5-6 Eurovision participants as well as people from the media business. The voting procedure is, of course, the same one than for Eurovision itself, with winners invited to perform their act again. Last year, Germany won, with a funny version of Marcel (Germany 1963 by Heidi Brühl). Two of the OGAE France’s members were actually part of the victorious group. So, if you’re having your holidays at this moment in Paris, you need to experience the EuroVartoVision.
Tickets will soon be available, for more information click here. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the AIDS research.
