United Kingdom star at UK Eurovision Winners Party
Sonia returns to Eurovision Stage
The bouncy readhead shot to fame in 1989 in the United Kingdom and internationally with her debut Stock Aitken and Waterman song You'll never stop me loving you and followed it up with a string of chart hits.
in 1993, she was chosen by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest and had a song selection show to herself where she performed eight songs. The public chose Better the devil you know for her to perform at the competition in Ireland. She took second place, trailing Ireland by 11 points as the final jury reached the last '12 points' of the night, with both Ireland and the United Kingdom yet to score. The top mark went to Ireland, but had it gone to the United Kingdom, Sonia would have been the fifth Eurovision Song Contest winner for the British.
She will join Bucks Fizz at the UK Eurovision Winners Party, along with the victorious act at Saturday night's Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia.
MORE PARTY INFORMATION
More names will be announced for the party in the next few days as London gets ready for a second huge Eurovision spectacular. The 2009 UK Eurovision Preview Party is already in the planning stage as organisers continue their push to make London one of the key Eurovision cities once again.

Please UK, send something decent next year.
I love Andy Abraham, but let's admit it; he's not going to do well in the final.
nikki french is also appearing
ah we all love Sonia.
she was very good in 93 but in my (not so biased opinion) Niamh Kavanagh belted out what has become Irelands best ever winner of ESC. Niamh totally deserved to win that year. but i was fantastic to watch it, the voting was so close and down to the very last vote from the very last jury - fantastic.
unfortunately over some recent years, the winner is known with about 2 or 3 jurys still to vote. 1993 was a fantastic year, both for Ireland and for the ESC and of course for all those debuting countries back then.
We still love Sonia !!!
Sonia was fantastic but once again we chose the wrong song. It should have been 'A Little Love' that represented us. Go for ESC again, please Sonia!
OOOh!!!!!!!!!! Sonia should of won that year.
I love Sonia. She is very talented
Yeah!! I thought Sonia was great in 1993!!!!
