Day 2: Poland, Ireland, Andorra and Bosnia & Herzegovina
Song 10 Poland - Isis Gee - For Life
Isis looked stunning this morning in a short white dress emphasise her legs and flowing golden blond hair. She gave a confident performance and was vocally sound thought-out. She is certainly an accomplished performer displaying good stage and camera awareness. At this mornings rehearsals she was able to display her considerable vocal range to great effect. She is joined on stage by a a pianist and string quartet consist of a cellist and three violinists. Isis start her performance at the back of the stage and whilst singing she walks down the gangway to the very front of the stage. Dry ice is used in emphasise the stage presentation. Isis made a strong impression with the audience today and expected to progress in the competition.
Song 11 Ireland – Irelande Douze Points
As Dustin appeared on stage in his the Eurovision shopping trolley, complete with mirror ball, text screen and toilet seat, he exclaimed ‘we’re the winner – where's the trophy’. This set the tone for an outlandish performance from the Turkey. He is joined two backing singers and three backing dances. The routine include a short version of Riverdance and a game of Irish hurling during the act. Backing singers will be dressed in gold whilst the dancers will have outfits made up of feathers in the colours of the Irish flag. As Dustin sits in the trolley he is twirled around the stage by his backing dancer. In true Dustin the Turkey style he burps his way through the sound check and leaves the by exclaiming ‘did we win?’
Song 12 - Andorra - Cassanova
Gisela has arrived with the best pigtails we've seen at Eurovision in many a year. Vocally she is strong and her English pronouciation has clearly been worked on, althought the backings vocals are a little out of synch. There's some traditional Eurovision choreography of old, and if retro goes down well on the night, this could be Andorra's first appearance at a Eurovision Song Contest final. The song features a solitary line of native Catalonian and the stage sees bright colours for a happy song.
Song 13 - Bosnia-Herzegovina – Pokusaj
Once again Laka is joined on stage by his sister for this excentric stage performance for Pokusaj. She starts the performance by hanging clothes on a washing line. She then collects bouquets from the four female backing singers who are dressed in white bridal gowns. The backing singers then start knitting on the stage without wool! Throughout the performance we see plenty of energetic movement from Laka, who is often see running around the stage. Certainly an entertaining and bizarre rehearsal from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the staging works and the song is a good bet to go through to the final.

irland - sorry this is not a comedy show - but i think will go to final ( don't ask why)
andorra - don't now maybe with some luck ....
- bosnia - sorrrry but what is that song horrible and can't find words to express - irland is better then that ...
Gisela I hope that you do very well on the day of the semifinals. She can do it.
Ireland is horrible...crap! IRLAND 0 POINTS
Bosnia is a pieco of art!
Thanks everyone who supported Laka!!!
Good luck Laka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh you people and your sensitive little toes. I don't like Isis' accent. So what? I also don't like cauliflower. But I do like broccoli. Maybe I'm jealous of the cauliflower because it is white.
hoola! jaja
well about this 4 songs... I don´t like any of them at all jajaja, but I know that poland and bosnia-herzegovina have a good entry...
anyway...good luck for the 4, but they´re not my favorites =)
Laka for the win!
well done Bosnia. napred Laka.
The Irish song is really interesting and positive, but i don't think ANIMALS are allowed on stage!
And yes, we really expect a lot from him this year...
Bosnia-Herzegovina you are the winner!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC I'M IMPRESSED I CANNOT WAITH 2 SEE ON 20th AND 24th may. VOTE FOR ART,MUSIC AND THEATHRE = VOTE LAKA!!!!!!
In a Bosnian song, Laka sings about love and wants to say that people are made from love and not just ''became from a monkey''...maybe that kind of ''love presentation'' isn't working for all, but there's, for sure, difference from the songs from Estonia and Ireland, which are pure gimmick. Also, performance it is a bit unusuall, but can you imagine Laka, as it looks, to sing with a different stage performance then it's already presented....go Laka, go Bosnia
@ Anthony Berardinelli
Chiken's appear somwhere during the song on a big screen behind...it's not the same, but, at least, on a way, is there
Isis impressed me. Everyone's been saying that she can't sing live!? And I really like the Bosnian entry.
I love the Bosnian entry!
At first I thought it was horrendous. Of course it´s completely ridiculous, but somehow it works.
Pure entertainment, I hope they qualify.
I do love Isis's song, and she is brilliant, however I have a soft spot for piano ballads, so i'm supporting Norway a bit more on the ballad this year!!!
Good luck to Norway and Poland
!!!
I wanted to see the chicken again in Bosnia's performance
is just not the same without it
I'm rather disappointed at Andorra's rehersal - backing singers out of synch? More like out of tune - I hope they dont ruin it for Andorra. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a final place for the first time - they do try hard.
So Isis Gee is American, so is Kalomira. Celine Dion is Canadian, Gina G is Australian, and the list goes on. Since when was the singer's nationality an issue in ESC? And soon somebody will argue that Dustin the Turkey, being a puppet, is not eligible for any citizenship and is therefore stateless, making him an illegal alien in Serbia and should be deported..
BOSNIA DOUZE POINTS...Dustin and Laka to perform together with a Estonians as a back vocalist and a Russian ice skater somewhere behind them....
Gisela has not been 100%, but that was because she did not want to exert the voice. I am sure that Andorra will improve greatly when passing day.
Cmon andorra..make it to the final.... i love this song
Isis really impressed me. I didn't think she would be able to sing live that good! Who cares about her American accent we she's able to sing so smoothly? Besides that, I doubt the average person in Bulgaria, Latvia or Portugal is able to reckon her accent as American, British or Australian. That's just a cheap excuse to trash her a little bit.
Andorra: mmm, average performance. Anyway, my expectations are not that high. There's not much they can do to improve that song. Totally forgettable.
Ireland: these guys deserve to be punished, somehow! What a piece of rubbish! Sad attemp to get some attention, but they get all my pity instead.
Isis... just amazing... lovely. Well finally she has a great opportunity to prove how strong her voice is... I can't understand some comments of jelaous, nearow-minded people in here about Isis's accent. Then don't listen to her gish... whats the big deal. Its not even worth mentioning. Also why does it bother you that shes american? You should focus on the song, not nationality. I'm sure if Isis sang for UK or France it wouldn't be a big deal. Well have fun at ESC 2008. Get the party started.
Good luck for everyone!!!
Greetings
Ice skater trying to do something on a 1x1 meter ice, violinist, Dima climbing...? God, so many thigs happend during the song...simply you cannot watch all those happenings in a same time...it makes dizziness for me...not liked Russia at all...
- Keith Timmons
Aaah, OK!! It is a matter of personal preference! I think the best accent of english is an Irish accent, I love it!!!!
