ETV won't apply
Junior Eurovision: Estonia - not interested
Tiiu Simm of Estonian Television confirmed that ETV will not be applying to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest any time soon, without citing any reasons as to why.
Of the other Baltic countries, Latvia took part in the 2003-2005 editions, and Lithuania made its debut in 2007. Estonia has not qualified to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2003.

mongol boy, it's not abusive the kids have fun.
anyway who cares about estonia, they miss out, oh well.
jesc rules.
ps, not pedophiles, you can't even see the kids up close so..
@Tom D
Make your own ESC site if you are able to research more interesting news.
Taking everything for free but always complaining.
I've never watched it and I won't do it never!
Good decission from Estonia, I hope Spain will keep it out from that abusive contest.
i know that etv broadcasted the jesc once but it had only few viewers so it is pointless .eurovision itself is getting pointles . it would be a good idea to have the "contest" every second year
*yawn*
...pointless news...
ETV have said in the past that the only reason they don't take part in JESC is the cost - it is roughly the same as ESC and the broadcaster doesn't have that much money. It's a shame really, given the huge number of children's choirs and children's singing events in the country, but there you go.
and to the ppl that say that JESC has no future just check ESC back in 50's and 60's
Thank God! They send terrible songs to ESC... we don't need their bad songs also in Jesc
they will not have the chance to meet a beutiful island , with sunny weather and friendly people.. cyprus is wonderful..
That means the end of JESC.
If this goes on, each country will take part with 2 songs, like in 1956, LOL!
Good decision.
Get rid of this ridiculous unfair contest!
Make 2008 the last year. Cyprus will put on a great show.
I am happy that the German broadcaster doesn't even broadcast this stupid contest!!!
@MONGOL BOY
LOL, do you think it's real?????Come on it's a FUN contest for children!
GL MALTA
@ Mongol Boy: fortunately there are not THAT many pedophiles in Europe.
Who cares.... JESC is great without them ether so I don't see why is this lost for JESC !!!
Shame that Estonia never qualifies for the final, cos they send some REALLY good songs (althought this year isn't that great!!).
I think Estonia is one of them countries that are eastern, but they don't get any of the eastern votes. Besides, Estonia is culturally closer to Finland or Sweden, than eastern europe, so Estonia is kind of a western european country.
I LOVE YOU ESTONIA!!!!
(There is never any news about Estonia, shame
)
I think like 40% of the viewers of JESC are pedophiles, who like to "do their thing" while watching children..... please, stop this contest!!!
jesc has no future
If their entries look like the ones in the actual esc the last few years...good for us!
Wise decision, stay away from this stupid useless child abusive contest.
A wise decision by ETV.

If you don't like JESC why read this articale?
Not surprised really - waste of money listening to brats belting out terrible songs.
