Biography
Sergio (whose real name is Serge Quisquater) is a 36-year-old Belgian singer. He is one of Belgium’s most popular all-round entertainers. Some say he is "Mr. Entertainment". Whether he’s bringing the roof down in packed halls or presenting his own TV shows, he’s what every artist should be : seasoned and professional. Wherever he goes, it’s party time – room, bar, hall, yes, even the world seems to light up, there’s a smile on everyone’s face.
Sergio’s television programmes score high in the ratings. In demand both with the public as well as the commercial broadcasters, he’s hosted various game shows and fun magazines. With a career already spanning 15 years in music, he’s no happier than when he’s on stage, bringing the house down. The name of his latest show "One hour full power" says it all. Before that he was one half of Touch of Joy, a club duo he did with Sandy, which had hit after hit in the Benelux. Touch of Joy has been put on the back burner for the moment while Sergio continues his solo career.
One of Sergio’s unfulfilled dreams was to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Songcontest. It stands to reason since huge stages and being the focal point of attention are just up his street. The Paelinck brothers, Marc and Dirk, with a number of Benelux hits already under their belt, came up with a number that was tailor-made for Sergio. Sister, a powerful, hard-hitting melting pot of rock and soul.
A great track and a great singer, but still something was missing … great backing vocals ! So now Ibernice Macbean, Ingrid Simons and Jodi Pijper, all from the Netherlands, join him on stage making it Sergio & the Ladies. Besides being heavily in demand for Dutch artists, they’ve also worked with international artists. Sergio & his Ladies are currently working on an album that should be in the shops by May. On 25 May the world’s going to find it difficult not to tap their feet and start jumping around the room when Sergio & The Ladies get on stage and set the Saku Suurhall alight !
