Biography
Platinum records, prestigious awards and other prizes at international music festivals make up the story of the last few years of Piasek’s career. Since he started working with Robert Chojnacki, whom he also wrote this Eurovision Song Contest entry with, he has been one of Poland’s biggest stars.
Even before meeting Robert Chojnacki, Piasek (real name Andrzej Piaseczny) was a frequent feature on the Polish music scene. The many years of performing publicly has made Piasek completely at home performing live. And like so many other pop musicians Piasek also has other creative interests. Since 1997, he has been playing a part in a Polish TV series and recently he played the Prince in a Szczecin Opera production of "Sleeping beauty".
Robert Chojnacki and Piasek started working together in 1995 and back then no one expected it to be the start of a great career. But their work together on the album "Sax and sex" produced many hits and became a major commercial success for both of them.
Robert Chojnacki played the saxophone and in addition to his work with Piasek is in the band "De mono", which Robert spends a lot of energy on. The band has become one of the most successful bands in the Polish music history and Robert Chojnacki has been part of it from the start in 1987. He was greatly responsible for the band’s seven albums. He is currently finishing yet another CD with "De mono".
