Biography
Alsou (16) was born in Tatarstan, but soon thereafter moved to Northern Russia with her family. When Alsou was nine, they moved to England. Being a nine-year-old in a completely foreign country proved to be very hard at first. Alsou was very homesick, but as soon as she got over the language barrier she began to feel better. Now she speaks English better than Russian, and she even thinks in English. She decided to study architecture design, her main subjects being maths and art. She has continued to study languages - she is fluent in French and Italian, and dreams about recollecting the Tartar language which she spoke when she was little. Alsou, by the way, is a Tartar name and translated to English it means "rose water". She still lives and studies in London, but has already established herself as a successful artist in Russia, hoping for a break in the West as well.
Andrew Lane was born in 1962 in San Diego, California. From an early age he was into music and the art of songwriting, his earliest influences being Bacharach & David and Motown's Holland, Dozier & Holland. By the time he was fifteen, Andrew was playing the flute, the drums, the keyboards, and had his own group, Mirage. At sixteen, he was working as a session keyboardist with such jazz artists as Arthur Adams, The Jazz Crusaders and Ronnie Laws. In 1992 Andrew moved to Alabama and became a regular session musician at Muscle Shoals. From there he moved to Atlanta and concentrated on songwriting. Andrew is currently working with Hall & Oates on their new album.
Brandon Barnes was born in Alabama, USA, in the summer of 1956. He took an interest in music already as a child, and began focusing exclusively on the craft. Soon he was playing the drums, the bass and the piano. Performing at the famous Muscle Shoals studio as a teenager, Brandon learned what it was like to live the life of a musician. The Muscle Shoals studio was known for contributing to the success of such legends as Roy Orbison, Percy Sledge, and the Osmonds. Writing since he was 16, Brandon is a respected and talented songwriter. He is best known for his involvement on the albums by multiplatinum-selling artist Brian McKnight. Brandon has also written for Boys II Men and Take 6.
