Biography
Paul Oscar (full name Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson) is Iceland's most popular and admired male singer. The youngest of seven children from a famous musical family, he started his own career as a child star in the 1970s, then gave up singing for seven years. He has played rock, pop, Latin American and musicals, but for the last two years has concentrated on house, techno and drum 'n' bass music.
Trausti Haraldsson has written film scores and handled arrangements for Iceland's leading groups. He is one of the founders of the Fantasia dance band. His debut as a songwriter was in Iceland's 1992 National Song Contest, and in 1994 he signed with Spor Records. [Notes from the Official 1997 Programme by RTÉ]
