Biography
Costas Bigalis was born in Athens and started his musical career in 1975. In 1977 he performed in the opera Utopia by Mimis Plessas (who wrote the 1983 Greek entry Mou Les for Christie). Two years later he starred in Jesus Christ Superstar while studying at drama school. That year he was a prizewinner at the Thessaloniki Song Festival. Since then, his work, which took him for two years to the USA, has included Loukianos Dialogues at the Athens Festival, Acts of the Apostles Peter and Paul (with Anthony Hopkins), while his first LP Big Alice was issued to great acclaim in 1984. He has won platinum discs for his LPs Aegean Blues and My Little Bee.
The Sea Lovers consists of Antonis Tourkogiorgis (bass), Akis Tourkogiorgis (electric guitar), Vassilis Roussis (drums), and Victoria Halkiti and Christina Anagnostopoulou (supporting artists). [Notes from the Official 1994 Programme by RTÉ]
