Biography
Niamh Kavanagh is 25 and from Dublin. She has been active in music from an early age and has been involved in musical styles ranging from folk to opera and from pop to rock. Her present style is blues/soul. Niamh toured in Ireland and England but her big break came with the film 'The Commitments'. She sang three songs in the film and was awarded a gold disc for her involvement in the album of the sound track. Since 1990 Niamh has been involved in Dublin with top session musicians specialising in blues/soul.
Jimmy Walsh is a professional musician, now living in New York. His first professional band was 'The Chessmen', a group with which he toured Germany for almost a year. He has since worked in London, Dublin, Mexico and Central America and in 1982 settled in the USA, where he plays with his own band. He has been a finalist in the National Song Contest on four occasions.
Noel Kelehan is one of the most versatile Irish musicians and is conducting the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time in Ireland. [From the 1993 Programme by RTÉ]
