Biography
Samantha Janus is 18 and comes from North London. She had plans for a career in music, but found instead that her acting talents were more in demand. Her film and TV credits include performances with big stars such as Glenda Jackson, Michael Caine and many others. However, a friend of songwriter Paul Curtis, suggested he audition Samantha, and it now looks as though her career in music will start up again. Here in Rome she will be the interpreter of a song about the Third World. Samantha does have plans to put together an all-girl group.
Samantha is backed on stage by Lucy Moreby, Zoe Pico and Nicky Belsher. The latter is the younger sister to Lyn Paul (of The New Seekers, 1972).
Songwriter and composer Paul Curtis from London has taken part in several Eurovision Song Contests. As writer and producer Paul Curtis has worked with Brotherhood Of Man, Olivia Newton-John, Elvis Presley, Bay City Rollers and many others.
Ronnie Hazlehurst is one of Great Britain's best known musicians. He is Musical Director of BBC Television, and is also a much respected composer and arranger of all kinds of music for comedies, films and radio programmes. [Notes from the Official 1991 Programme by RAI]
