Biography

PARK CAFÉ was founded and released their first maxi-single in 1986. They produced their first album in 1987 and performed in France at the 1988 festival "Le Printemps de Bourges", receiving excellent reviews. They are currently recording a new LP co-produced with Jean Trenchant. PARK CAFÉ's members: Gast Waltzing (trumpet, keyboards), Maggie Parke (vocals), Rom Heck (bass, background vocals). Additional musicians: Ander Schmit (keyboards, background vocals), Serge Vesque (guitar), Rainer Kind (drums), Jerome Goldschmidt (percussion).

Gast Waltzing studied classical music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique of Paris. Since 1986, has been professor of trumpet at the jazz department of the Conservatory of Luxembourg. Founder of PARK CAFÉ, he remains the band's driving force.

U.S.-born Maggie Parke came to Luxembourg in 1980, as Administrative Director of the Echternach International Music Festival. Gast Waltzing suggested composing pop-rock music together They have since composed the PARK CAFÉ repertoire.

Yves Lacomblez was from an early age rocked by African rhythms. With Belgium's "Two Man Sound" he recorded hits "Charlie Brown", "So Fla Fla" and "Disco Samba".

Bernard Loncheval won song-writing prominence with "Tout petit la planète" and "Hulla Hop" sung by Plastic Bertrand He is also a jazz saxophonist, session musician and music producer.

Eurovision Song Contest Musical Director, Benoît Kaufman, will conduct "Monsieur" by PARK CAFÉ. [Notes from the Official 1989 programme]
