Biography
Plastic Bertrand (born Roger Jouret 24-02-'58 in Brussels) studied classical music at the conservatory, before he quit his studies and became part of the punk movement. The song Ça Plane Pour Moi took Plastic Bertrand high in the European charts at the start of 1978. He never quite achieved to follow up this hit and songs like Tout Petit La Planète and Hulla Hop, both written by Bernard Loncheval (lyricist for the Luxembourg entry 1989), flopped one after the other. In 1998 Plastic Bertrand tried to rekindle his career by re-releasing his big 1978 hit, but this time in vain. And despite Leila K's success with a new version of the song five years before.
One of the backing singers was Patricia Maessen who participated earlier for the Netherlands in 1970 with Patricia & Hearts Of Soul and for Belgium (1977 with Dream Express and 1986 as a backing singer for Sandra Kim).
