Biography
After a year of presenting Popparade, Sandra Reemer (born 17-10-'50 in Bandung, Indonesia) was asked once again to represent Holland in the Eurovision Song Contest. This time Sandra Reemer teamed up with Mac Sell, Paul Vink, Ton op 't Hof, Ferdy Lancée and Okkie Huysdens to form the group Xandra, of course named after their lead singer Sandra. With the name change came a change of image for Sandra, more sexy and with a false pony tail. However none of this prevented Colorado from being a relative failure for her. After some years of silence Sandra returned to recording solo material, but she would never be as successful as she had been with Sandra & Andres. In recent years Sandra combined singing with the presentation of TV programmes. First as Jos Brink's 'kroepoekje' (prawn cracker: Indonesian food) in Wedden Dat for Dutch public TV, later on for some seasons with her own programme Showmasters and a talk show on Dutch commercial TV. After a highly acclaimed album in Dutch in 1996, it's now very silent around Sandra.
Rob Bolland (born 17-01-'55) and Ferdi Bolland (05-08-'56, both in Port Elisabeth, South Africa) are better known as the singing and writing duo Bolland & Bolland. In 1969 the Bolland family left South Africa for Holland and it was there that the brothers got their first recording contract in 1972. Early hits followed with Summer Of '71 and Wait For The Sun. In 1978 they also started producing their own songs and the results were singles like Spaceman from 1978 and The Wall Came Tumbling Down from 1992. More fame came however with their production credits that comprised such different artists as Sandra Reemer (Colorado), The Internationals (Dutch final in 1978 with Boem Boem, but produced then by Jaap Eggermont. Bolland & Bolland produced their big '77 hit Young And In Love), Falco (Rock Me Amadeus, Jeanny Part 1) and Johnny Logan (Union Of The Heart). The latest in a long line of production work was a project called The Bolland Project about Darwin's evolution theory. This spawned hits for artists like Colin Blunstone (Emma, My Dear) and Barclay James Harvest (Stand Up!). Ferdi Bolland and Sandra Reemer incidentally were married for a time.
