Biography
Luci Kapurso and Hamo Hajdarhodzic were members of the group Dubrovacki trubaduri (Troubadours of Dubrovnik). They were very popular for their mixture of pop-music and medieval traditions of their native ancient city on the Adriatic. They were formed in 1962 and recorded their first single in 1966. As a group they participated in the Yugoslav pre-selection and won. In London, as groups were not allowed at the time, two of the singers had to perform as a duo. Luciano Kapurso and Hamo Hajdarhodzic were chosen to do the job. They were accompanied by Djelo Jusic (band leader and composer), Marko Breskovic and Ladislav Padjen. The sixth member of the group, Slobodan Berovic, had to stay off stage since only 3 backing-singers were allowed at the time. The group, in different line-ups, existed well into the 70's.
For the European-release of the single, the group adopted the English name Troubadours of Dubrovnik. Jedan Dan was a hit in a lot of European countries.
