Biography
Jørgen Ingmann already scored some solo hits before he entered the Eurovision Song Contest this year with his wife Grethe: In 1961 he stalled in the runner-up position of the American Hot 100 with his version of the Shadows' Apache. In 1962 and 1963 he scored two European hits with Violetta and Africa. After having also scored a European hit with Dansevise Jørgen scored one more European hit in 1964. His version of the Drina Marsch became the biggest European hit of his career.
Grethe Ingmann died in 1991.
