Biography

Françoise Hardy (born 17/01/'44 in Paris, France) signed her first recording contract in 1961. The result was her first French hit Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles in 1962 and her first Belgian hit with the same song at the start of 1963. Strangely in other territories it took Françoise's Eurovision entry L'Amour S'En Va to make Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles a hit. In the UK it hit the charts more than a year after Françoise participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. In recent years Françoise's name is identical with Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles. In reality she went on to have some more hits with songs like Only Friends, Et Même, All Over The World and Comment Te Dire Adieu. The last song became popular again in 1989 in a version by Jimmy Somerville and June Miles-Kingston. After 1969 her European success dwindled, although she briefly returned to the UK charts in 1994, when she duetted with the British group Blur on the French version of their single To The End.
