Eurovision Song Contest 1958
10 participants took part at the contest with Sweden as newcomer and the United Kingdom not taking part. France won, Switzerland became second with the formal winner Lys Assia. Italy sent the well-known song Nel blu dipinto di blu (Volare) from Domenico Modugno. His song wasn't received correctly in some countries so he had to sing it again at the end of the presentation of all songs.
