Ola, Hi hello everyone! First of all let me thank you for visiting my profile... and now I'm going to introduce myself in a few words.

I'm Joao, I'm 21 and I'm from Portugal. I'm a student and I live near to Porto, which is second biggest city in Portugal, after Lisbon which is the portuguese capital. I'm a viewer of Eurovision since my childhood, I remember I watched my first ESC at the age of 5, 6...I can't be precise about how old I was when I watched the ESC for the first time, but one of my greatest memories of those times is when Lucia Moniz came in the 6th position (the best Portuguese result ever in this contest) in Oslo back in 1996.
Nevertheless from 2000 to 2002 I did not watch the ESC in these years because I found they were the weakest ones. But I was back in 2003 and I watched it (and I did it for two reasons, one of them was reason Rita Guerra (who had been internally selected by the RTP) and also because of the russian representatives since TATU was one of my favourite groups at that time). Unfortunately Rita Guerra was very robbed and she could only come to a very disappointing 22th place in Riga and they didn't get the reason why she had such a bad result, she had a great ballad and she did a great job on the stage (I'm sure that if that song would have been sung by Chiara everyone would have liked and voted it for... that was not fair).
And about Portugal's participation in the ESC well I must be honest and to tell that my country is one of most underrated countries in the show, my country is one of the few countries that keep sending songs which are sung in the country's official language... I know and I recognize that Portugal has already sent very crapy songs (like Nonstop, MTM, To Cruz, Sofia Vitoria, 2b just to name a few of them), but I think every countries have already done that too... and this is like if we send a bad song we'll come in the last positions but if we will send a good song we'll come in the last positons as well...

well about my tastes in the Eurovision, I have to say the style that I like the most in the ESC are the ballads, I do really love the most part of the ballads in the ESC (yeah I'm very sweet ) but I do also like some up-tempo songs... but I like mainly the ballads (ethnic ballads from the Balkan countries included)
