My story

I've been a huge fan of Eurovision since I saw my first contest at the age of seven in 1976 and the UK won! I thought it would be like that every year. Boy, was I in for a shock. My favourite UK entry is The Bad Old Days by CoCo in 1978 (I was mortified when they finished 11th) and my favourite Eurovision songs of recent years are I Evighest by Elisabeth Andreassen for Norway in 1996, Den Vilda by One More Time for Sweden, also in '96 and Neke Mi Ne Svane by Danijela for Croatia in 1998. Things I don't like include the trendy knocking of the UK - some of it borders on racism - and the ability to predict which country is going to give which neighbour 12 points! Oh how I wish we had more neighbours!
