My story

Ljubiša Alivašević

Hiya! This is Louis, calling from somewhere in Europe! I'm 20 years old, and I'm studying Translation and Interpreting, for I absolutely love languages and I hope to make a living by travelling around the world and making understanding between nations possible (now, this sounded quite cheesy... :P) I follow Eurovision since 2002, but I've been finding out about previous contests till 1985.

As for their Eurovision deliveries, some of my favourite countries are Russia, UK, France, Norway, Sweden, Iceland... just check below. Overall, I'm in love with UK, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe (namely Russia, Poland, Czech Rep, Ex-Yugoslavia).

If you wanna know more about me, just ask! :-) I have no problems about people adding me on Messenger, if I don't like somebody I can always push the "Block" button ^-^, but I like to meet new and interesting people! So feel free to add me: fraises.et.champagne@live.be

My impressions on Oslo 2010

Provisional ranking:

1. FINLAND: Kuunkuiskaajat - Tyolki ellaa
Wow! This is one of those rare occasions in which my favourite song from a national final actually wins! :D I fell in love with this song since the very first time I heard it. I'm sure we'll see Finland in the final with these cheerful girls and their folkloric sounds!

2. NORWAY: Didrik Solli-Tangen - My heart is yours
Strangely, I was rather untouched the first time I listened to it, but it grew on me since the second time. Now I've come to like this guy a lot, and I'm pretty sure he'll do a good job in home ground. I'm still a little upset though that Venke or Maria Arredondo didn't make it, but Didrik has all my support. In any case, congratulations to Norway for a wonderful national final :D.

3. DENMARK: Chanee & N'evergreen - In a moment like this
I still don't know how on earth Danes could ignore Simone and her wonderful tune, but the Danish entry is one of these songs I know that can grow on me. Dansk MGP was incredible too.

4. SWITZERLAND: Michael von der Heide - Il pleut de l'or
It's camp as a picnic basket! But I can't help loving it, for some weird reason... I kind of picture a crowded gay bar when I listen to it and feel in the mood to dance! But please, just do something with the guy's appearance...

5. CYPRUS: Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders - Life looks better in spring
A promising title and a mellow rhythm for a song that could get lost in the line-up. I'm sure it will grow on me with an improved arrangement though.

6. THE NETHERLANDS: Sieneke - Ik ben verliefd, shalalie
Hmm... The demo by Pierre Kartner sounded quite kitsch yet charming. I'm still unsure of Sieneke. She delivered perhaps the best performance, only beaten by Peggy Mays IMO, but I can't see how this song could qualify... I find myself humming to it, but there's something missing.

7. ALBANIA: Juliana Pasha - It's all about you
Right after FiK, it sounded like this kind of songs you've listened a hundred times before. Nevertheless, I quite like the new English demo, and it seems it will improve.

8. ICELAND: Hera Bjork - Je ne sais quoi
It hurts me so badly that Iceland is currently at the bottom of my list... What were you thinking of, Iceland? Cheap schlager doesn't work any more... Hera is lovely and she's got an amazing voice, but this entry is just soulless. A far cry from wonderful Yohanna.
...

Other countries:

BELGIUM: Tom Dice is cute and sings quite well. A simple guitar or piano ballad would suit him.

UKRAINE: I don't think too much of Lazarovich, but let's wait for the song before criticising. Ukraine will just regret they don't have sent the Borysenko twins to Oslo :'(

ISRAEL: After Noa, I know no Israeli entry could make me very happy this year. Yet Harel Skaat has a lovely face and voice, and as long as he's given a good song, not so overhyped as the one by Boaz in 2008... Could do the trick!

TURKEY: I'm so glad that Turkey chooses alternative rock instead of a dancing chick this time :D I didn't know maNga before, I've listened to a couple of songs and they're even better than Mor ve Otesi, so we may have a really nice entry for Turkey in Oslo.

We'll see...
