My story

DannyT

Hey everyone I am Daniel, born and bred in Belfast, and I have watched Eurovision since I can remember although I have gotten really into it for the last 5 years. I certainly have my favourite songs and think the quality is getting better year on year, although a lot of the time the results don't reward the songs that I like but what can ye do?

As for Ireland, we're goin through a rough patch - bar the brilliance that was Dustin, the last moment we had like that was back with that Eimear Quinn girl singing about how good her voice was. Dervish...those manly voiced sisters in 99... Donna and Joe!!! what have we been thinkin?! Anyway I love and will back my country even when we provide shite

OK so the 2010 season is well under way and here's a list of the songs I have really liked so far:
Estonia Astronaut - Iiris Vesik
Estonia - Maagiline Paev - Violina and Rolf Junior
Estonia - Teiste Seest Koigile - Groundhog Day
Finland - Annankadun Kulmassa - Heli Kajo! (robbed the wee girl blind!)
Norway Jealous Cause I Love You - Venke Knutson

Ranking of songs qualified to Eurovision 2010 so far

Good
01 Cyprus - nice wee song from them this year, nothing special but much much better than a lot of the other stuff we've heard so far
02 Norway - I really like this song considering it wouldn't really be my style. I can imagine this doing very well in the final too

OK
03 Iceland - good voice and nice song and its a solid if not fantastic entry from Iceland. Doesn't match up though to last year and Johanna but it could grow on me
04 Albania - nice to see Albania trying and modernise themselves a bit with their entry. By no means a great song but nice to see that Lady Gaga's influence has even made it there

Nothing Special
05 Finland - nice enough but Heli Kajo was robbed and would have been my number one
06 Denmark - very 80s Time of your Life type of duet and while its listenable I would forget how it goes every time I listen

Awful
07 Switzerland - weird song and weird guy. Sorry Switzerland but you have been knocked off your pedestal after the past two years

666
08 Netherlands - horrible, horrible, horrible. People often comment on this site that Eurovision is for everyone and that that allows a place for this song. Well great to see them be Samaritans but I ain't that forgiving and I'm more selfish. I want fresh, modern songs if its uptempo or for slower songs ethnic or classic sounding. This is just a nightmare and makes me understand why Eurovision can be considered such a joke... 0 points, don't pass GO, don't collect £200.

2009

01 Iceland - she is class, song is class and I still listen to it all the time
02 Norway - catchy wee ditty and fun and honestly was the right winner in the end even if I prefer Iceland
03 Switzerland - best song of the contest, shame bout your man's voice on the night
04 Germany - guilty pleasure but your woman Dita should have been on more
05 Portugal - makes me smile every time, that wee singer is lovely
06 Turkey - catchy frickin song but why'd they have a guy doin back up? made no sense!
07 Estonia - class!
08 Azerbaijan - catchy but your man couldn't sing to save his life
09 Sweden - your woman looked kinda scary but still good
10 Moldova - Nelly seems mental... I liked that

Just missing out is Bosnia & Herzegovina - class song that looked amazing on stage. B&H is fast becoming one of my fave countries in ESC

As for Ireland I can only say it was alright - at least we did well in the fact we chose the least rubbish song plus your wee girl could sing alright. Blondy mohawk though was a bit strange... overall it was meh but cos its Ireland I'll forgive it that!!!!

The Five Worst Songs
01 Albania - my ears bleed when I hear this one
02 Bulgaria - this is actually the worst however at least it had the decency not to qualify - still completely horrible though... what were the bulgarians thinkin!

I just have to add too, even though it is completely off music, that LOST is the best TV show of all time and I am completely addicted so I am well up for talking about that!!
