My story

alan budworth

I was born in 1963, and grew up in Kent, Uk, second ckild of four. I have two sisters and one brother. Both sisters are married, and I have 3 nephews and 1 niece. My brother is divorced, no children. I try to visit my parents as often as I can, but as I live in Bristol, that is not as often as I like.
My first memory of Eurovision, is sitting down with my mum and watching Brotherhood of Man cruising home, in The Hague in 1976. I have watched ever since.
I video tape every contest, and my collection goes back to 1983. I thinl Terry Wogan's commentaries are funny. I also record the Radio 2 broadcasts, so I can listen to Ken Bruce's commentary later. I have been buying DVD's of earlier contests to see what I missed!
I would not miss the contest for the world, as it is one of the best pieces of entertainment on TV, despite the UK'S run of bad form, and I would be gutted if the BBC ever took it off.
