My story
Galego in Hollywood
I'm a Galician living in Los Angeles, California, since 1997. I must be one of the very few around here who remembers Spain winning the ESC in 1968 (Massiel: "La, la, la"). It's actually one of my earliest memories!!!!
Galicia is one of the bilingual territories of the Iberian Peninsula, placed right on top of Portugal: we share language, culture and "saudade".
My favorite ESC song is "Eres tu"(Mocedades, 1973), followed closely by "Sanomi" (Urban Trad, 2003), with a Galician singer, Veronica Codesal, and a Galician bagpipe solo!!! I also loved many Portuguese entries, like "Bem-Bom" or more recently "Chamar a musica" and "Deixa-me sonhar". "C'est le dernier qui a parle" (Amina, 1991) was also one of the best entries ever.
I used to like Greece and Turkey, but since they decided to sing in Eurenglish, like most countries, I lost interest.
