I have always loved the Eurovision Song Contest! It's one of the highlights of the year for me. Eurovision always has a nice and warm atmosphere and it's where I first got to know a lot of countries..
I remember watching at a young age and enjoying it thoroughly (though I didn't know what it was at the time). It wasn't until I was 8yrs old in 1993 that I really got acquainted with it when it was the last thing I saw before going off on a family holiday, so there is always that exciting feel to it. The BiGGeST highlight was when the contest came to my home town of Birmingham in 1998. That was just wonderful.. but I was very young at the time and was unable to join in alot of the festivities that year.

I like all aspects of the Contest, the songs, the performances, the voting, the commentary. I think Terry Wogan's great and love his witty commentary. Although there's no doubt that there's some biased voting, alot of it's exaggerated and people moan because their songs did poorly (maybe the songs they send are just crap!!!)

I'm going to Helsinki this year to see Eurovision and very excited! I'll be joining the crowds outside the venue. I don't expect big things from the UK entry this year! But like Belarus Serbia Switzerland Netherlands Iceland CzechRep Sweden Andorra Ukraine Georgia and Finland this year. Any of them would make a fine winner!!

Let's hope Eurovision will continue long into the future and remember .... IT'S ONLY A GAME SHOW!!!
