I've been a major fan of ESC for as long as I can remember. Actually, the first contest I remember being allowed to stay up to watch was 1970!! and I haven't missed a show since. I have never been lucky enough to attend any contest but I do the next best thing and host an annual party.

My two favourite artists, and incidentally two of the biggest stars to ever win ESC are ABBA and Celine Dion.

I'm a great believer in democracy and tele-voting, but it's gone too far the other way now and I believe that there should be a combination of juries and televoting, with perhaps a jury awarding points 1 - 10 and the televote awarding 12. Another idea combining juries and televoting is for juries to award points 1 - 12 and televotes awarded 1 - 12. The country which receives the highest overall vote from both jury and televoting would be awarded 12 and so on.

I always vote for the song I like - irrespective of which country it's representing - which makes me wonder why other people don't do the same instead of voting for their 'neighbour. Now that would be a novel idea for some people!!!!

At my annual Eurovision party all the guests are given score cards and mark each song with a minimum of 1 point up to a maximum of 10 points.
