My story

Mistress EveLin

ESC has always been a part of my life. There's so many things of the contest that I just can't stand - like much of its taste and music (!) - still I can't get enough. I love the concept and I love how it engage people.

Haha! For two years now I have not been needed to change anything in my comments about the result in ESC. Sweden still ends up in the end of the final and I let the words from last year rule... Congrats to Norway and see you all in Oslo in 2010.

No - I don´t think sending Malena Ernman was such a huge change, of course we end up where we do. But I'm proud, and hey, we were at least in the final!

about the result of 2008
As a swede I do understand why we two years in a row had ended up in 18:th place. We are stucked in a sound that worked for us and the rest of Europe ten years ago. Unforunatly I see other countries like Greece, sending just as old songs, with better results. I think Russia is a fair winner, with a well produced song. I think France should have reached a better position and I do feel bad for UK who just never seems to understand that we want.

About the east/west issue
I think there is different interest of each other in east than in west. That's the main reason why east can dominate. The western countries are much occupied by its own music, with less care about what is going on around them. You are getting biased when you recognize an artist and as long as western countries tends to act introvert, east will have an advantage. But of course I wish east could be more openminded about the music.

About Funny entries
I am not against funny entries, dragshows and strange songlyrics. But if the quality is going to remain I think that entries like Ukraine or UK 2007 and Estland and e.g. Spain 2008 must be handled very carefully. However I also have my deepest concern of taking ESC too serious. It's supposed to be entertaining - but there's a fine line between entertainment and aimless extravagant nonsense.

Tchüss!

/Eva
