Born from Turkish parents at 13.06.1979 in Beringen.. about 79km from the Belgian capital in the Limburg province, I got involved with Eurovision in 1986 with the first Belgian victory in Bergen.

7 years old - got impressed by a organisation who would develop into one of the most important organisations in the world to share "spirit and the passion" not in sports, not in film festivals but MUSIC. The second time when ESC gave me the thrill 17 years later when I was 24. In my view the people who were the most excited about the ESC2003 pointing, were [without a doubt] the Turkish people & youth born & living in Belgium..
With 2 points difference won Turkey for the first time after 24 years when Turkey participated for the first time in 1975 the contest.

The excitement, the thrill, the passion, the heartbeat in a small student-studio, the capital of Europe felt this never before... Was it to be Belgium or Turkey.. those 2 countries bounded me in my nerves and the adrenaline went high up in my blood.. Just in case.. maybe Brussels would be fantastic.. .. No! Istanbul would be spectacular too.. As the matter a fact I am citizen of two capitals..

For the first time with a new logo, a new concept, two-nights-format, for the first time ... this was the destiny of Turkey's ESC-adventure.. The destiny of Istanbul became true.. “Under the 1 same sky”.. where 2 continents meet each other & last but not least where 3 religions are crossing each others history... it was to be meant for Istanbul.. The joy that I had on the big night in 2003 .. made me an ESC-maniac, an ESC-fan, an ESC-soul .. And afterwards the sadness to watch it about 2600km away in the same studio... Now I am 26. And wish the 26th country as a ESC-fan the best (for Lebanon) in the future..
Still watching from Brussels, actually in Belgium.. where it all began.. where it all began..
