My story

Dany Zack

Hi, my name is Dany Zack, I'm a journalist, and I live in Israel's main port city - Ashdod. I love the Eurovision Song Contest since I was two-year-old (1983). My favorite song in the whole wide world is "Kan" (Israel 1991, 3rd place), its performers, Duo Datz, are my favorite singers, and its composer, Uzi Chitman, is my favorite composer. My second favorite singer, who comes right after the Duo Datz, is Ofra Haza, who performed in the contest with "Hai" (Israeli 1983, 2nd place), and is world-wide famous for the hits "Galbi", "Im Nin'alu" and "Give Me A Sign". I grew on Haza's music, and I have all of her albums. My favorite non-Israeli entry is Un Banc, Un Arbr�, Une Rue by S�verine (Monaco 1971, 1st place).

I like many kinds of music - old Israeli, modern Israeli (mediterranean), Greek, modern Arab (mainly Labanese, Palestinian and Egyptian), dance music, latin, and old French. I have all the CDs of Duo Datz, Ofra Haza, Alab�na (a gypsy-Arab style band, that splited, the Arabic language singer is a great Israeli singer, called Ishtar), Sarit Hadad (performer of "Bo-u Venadlik Beyahad Ner", Israel 2002, 12th place), and of course the amazing C�line Dion (no need to tell you, but... what the heck?... performer of "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi", Switzerland 1988, 1st place).

I am very politically involved, especially in everything considering the gay/lesbian rights in Israel, and I have a lot of knowledge about the history of my country. I think about moving to the United Kingdom for a year or two, I need some rest from Israel. I love my country, but if you listen to "Push The Button", you will understand why I need some rest... If there's anyone who can help me with moving to London or Manchester, please contact me.

I speak Hebrew, English and Arabic.

I like dancing Israeli folkdances, which I dance since I was eight-year-old. In this type of dance east truly meets west, and your spirit is truly blissed with happiness and connect you to the land of Israel.

I plan on being a singer one day, in Hebrew, English and Arabic. I also write and compose in those languages. I also work on a book I write.
