Katy - the Melodifestivalen maniac!

Hello, everyone!

I'm a 17 year-old girl from a tiny town of Piran, in Slovenia. I go to a High school, 3rd grade. In my free time, I like to: watch TV(My fave TV channel is VH1), read books(my fave one at the moment is On The Wrong Way by Henning Mankell, but I like Harry Potter too), surf on the internet, listen to music and......ESC&MF!

I'm a HUGE fan of MF, even bigger than of ESC itself and I absolutely love all songs Sweden has sent them to ESC til now.It's all because of Fame's fabulous performance of "Give Me Your Love" in 2003. From then, I became totally new person....I started to learn Swedish, read about Sweden and so on.In 2004, I watched MF final live on the net for the very first time!And I saw Lena's glorious victory and she was my clear favorite to win in Istanbul.Well, the results in Istanbul didnt go on a way I expected, but I didn't bother that much. I had to concentrate on school, 'cos my dad and I made a deal, that if I make 8th grade with good marks that we'll go to Sweden together. I made it! And in August 21st, 2004, my dream came true when I went to Sweden. I had the best time of my life there!And I bought myself DVDs of MF 2003 and 2004, and an album of MF 2004. And when I came back(which was a real sad moment for me, 'cos I had such a great time) I was watching those DVDs again and again and again. And so I was learning Swedish that way also.In 2005, I was very anxious about MF and a Swedish participant. I so wanted Nanne to win, but then Martin Stenmarck won and I remember how I cried when the final was over and how I was in shock for 3 weeks after that night. But after I got over it, I was becoming more a fan of MF than of ESC. I was listening to more and more MF songs, which were all awesome for me, especially because they were mostly sung in Swedish, which is, for me, the coolest, the funniest and the nicest lagnuage I've ever heard.Many people in Slovenia think that I'm crazy, that Swedish is an ugly language and so, but I don't care. So, the time went by and I was totally falling in love with MF and around April I saw that brilliant, amazing and FANTASTIC medley from MF 2000 and then I began to get more and more MF songs, which I were listening to like nuts and even on the day of ESC final, I was listening more to old MF hits than of ESC 2005 songs. I dunno why! So, in summer something really amazing happened. There were some Swedish people on vocation in my town and they were staying on my neighbur's place. So couple of times, we met eachother and........I was speaking Swedish and ONLY Swedish! I was (and still am) so proud of myself! So on the begining of the new school year, I was a MF fan and on October 22nd I watched Congratulations for 3 reasons: 1.cos ESC was celebrating 50 years, 2. I was wondering if ABBA will or won't win and 3.Cos there was a queen of pop in Sweden, Carola performing after 15 years! And some days later, it was already gossip and rumors about her taking part on MF. But I didn't pay so much attention,'cos u know, u can never totally trust to what press writes about! But then, on November 28th it became official and I couldn't believe my eyes! She is back, Carola's back on MF! I mean, every since 1991 she was offered a dozens of MF songs, but she always turned them down and now she's back! So this year, Sweden is in good position to win the whole ESC again and I hope they will!

UPD: Carola won MF! Carola won MF! Carola won MF! Woooo hoooooo! And whatta bril song, what an awesome voice and what a stunning performance! "Evighet", "Invincible" doesn't matter, it rocks in both, English and Swedish version! HEJA SVERIGE, HEJA CAROLA!!!!!!!!!!!

UPD2: Well monsters won ESC, Carola came 5th. Too bad but Lordi have grown on me lately.......but still Carola was Invincible! At least for me!

UPD3: All songs for next years MF have been announced and Agnes has been disqualified already! Tragic, I know but rules needs to be folowed! PLUS Agnes can now repeat the success of Carola's "Nar loven faller" from 2003! But its gonna be a great year anyway! We have Nanne back, Sonya, Freddie Kempe, maybe even Svante Thuresson...........great stuff!
