Hello.

I like the Eurovision. I used to be able to do that trick where you named a country and year and I could tell you the singer, song and placing. I can't do that now. Too many songs and too many countries. I still love the contest but maybe think that recent contests have become a little too similar, losing a sense of national identity and that telephone voting is disenfranchising the Western audeince a bit.

It's a bit like 'critically accliamed albums' - musicians can release a great CD that few people buy but is still great. Telephone voting is just about sales - crictical acclaim is discounted under the current sytem.

I am a fan and take the contest more seriously than I should but I cant stand fans who take it even more serious than me. Lighten up! It is Light Entertainment after all.
